for god sakes because he wont tank, what makes you think it will work? look at phoenix, buffalo, oilers, you really think it's going to work for us when the odds of us getting bedard isnt very good? you want to win by doing this?, you will be more miserable and out the door when they are the buffalo sabres by tanking.

everyone wants bedard ever heard of a lottery when they screwed us giving us jvr over kane? you act like we can just tank how? who is going to take the big contracts when other teams are against the cap, that includes injuries, no trade clauses and carter hart, you want to move the only good goalie we ever had since the 1980s? actually it's not the coach that's going to prevent getting bedard, it's carter hart but if you think it's going to back to stopgaps and being the oilers with a star forward and no goalie is going to win cups, you are barking up the wrong tree.

what do you want in a coach? someone that's throwing parties at the bench like that's why the sens, sabres, coyotes are a train wreck, there's no accountability. look at the teams that have won cups, that are all no nonsense coaches. im not expecting a cup right now but at least you try to install a winning culture that keeps this team winning every year until some luck comes around and we eventually get over the hump. it took tampa seven years to get over the hump, you have to be patient.

as some point there has to be accountability to this roster which is why this team is what it is for a decade, they get awarded for stats and not competitiveness. that has to change, if we want to get to a cup, the fo has to evaluate and figure out who wants to be here to win and not collect a paycheck. right now we have too many players that want to play for the money and not for a cup. it's like we keep firing cooking managers and not firing the cooks.

tell me what teams in nhl in the last 10 years that have won cups have players that have 5'11 and lower size players? florida, tampa, colorado, st. louis right now ,those teams are getting bigger because goalies are getting bigger which makes so much harder for smaller forwards and d to get pucks by them. that's why we are getting worse, hextall took small forwards and this team has gotten worse because bigger teams are becoming a mismatch for us. smaller teams are a thing of the past, every good team has gotten bigger, that's what the nhl has become. small players just dont work in this era of the nhl. i mean come on, did you watch the florida game on how much their size is such a mismatch for us? our small forwards are getting easily checked and knocked off the puck, that's why we are getting beat so easy.

problem is hextall's failure to draft players, every player he drafted has no offensive skill, it was all pretty much grit and grind type of players, he never drafted snipers. none can score because there's no skill and you can say we need top talent well yeah but you can still need skill all over the roster not just one or two players. look at tampa, all their depth players are scoring and they are not top 5 players, it's about speed and skill. if we had that now, we wouldnt be here. it's ridiculous to be blaming fletch for hextall's drafted players, when he fletch's drafted players are playing well with the wild. besides york, none of fletchers drafted players are on the roster. the only reason fletch had to settle for hayes, ellis, nisky is because hextall refused to go after dougie and ror for peanuts. if he did that, i dont think fletch would have to settle for these players. am i shocked? no, i saw this coming way back in 2016.

and that's the biggest problem with this team, his failed draft picks, everyone wanted them up here and expected to win a cup well here's the reality of what these players are and instead it's not hextall's fault, it's fletchers like why and how? he didnt draft these players, no coach is going to fix them as much im not a big fan of hak but everything went downhill way before fletch came here and his picks are playing great in minn, it started in the 2016 when hextall's picks start playing and everything went downhill after that.

and he's the heart of this team during a 12 game losing streak? more like kryptonite than superman.

i bet million dollars that he will be kryptonite to a team he goes to, i know tampa wont touch him, they are smart enough to see winners and any other team that gets him, godspeed to them.

it's been 40 years blah blah, st.louis blues didnt freaking quit and tanked their way to win a cup for the first time since 1970, you got no patience that's your problem, you think tanking is the way because you think it's a guarantee we will get bedard and wright and we will be cup contenders, it's called a draft lottery we may get neither and we are in buffalo territory for 15 to 20 years, is that what you want? i swear in two years of winning 10 games a season it's not going to be fun for you and you are going 180 and say we shouldnt have done this. it's bad enough buffalo lost their main star player because of this and cant attract no top free agents which is main ingredient of improving your roster, you cant draft your way in a cup contender, it's not the way to do it. you have to stay competitive to attract great players and keep players that you drafted on this roster, oilers might lose one of their top players, you cant tank and be bad, it's not good for any star player. if that doesnt ring a bell, i dont know what reality you are living in, you act like this is video game and it will work in real life, there's a difference between player computer generated players and players that actually have feelings that actually have choice and not being controlled like robots.

i serously dont get your mindset, you see teams like senators, sabres, oilers, devils, they have been tanking and where has it gotten them? and you think it's going to work for us? here's the other problem, wright and bedard, what makes you think we are getting them? it's called lottery, there are no guarantees, we could get none of those players and we would be the laughing stock for 10 to 20 years i dont know how you are ok with that? not unless you have lost your will to win and not care if this team is crap. and if you think stars will come to tanking organization, you are the one that's out of touch.

what's going to make you love anyone that gets hired? they all have to have championships on their resumes or they suck?

because all the young players besides hart arent good, it means everyone else to blame but them, why are you so hard headed about the fact this players arent good? are you that afraid to admit that hextall drafted players that arent good? if that's the case it's going to get worse. like what is it going to take for you to face reality that these players arent good, this team being in the dumps for 5 straight years? the phantoms havent made the playoffs since 2017, does that say anything to do you that players he drafted stink? if they were great, the phantoms would making the playoffs every year.

it's the issue of the fact we dont have a consistent impact player like a pronger type not these ok type of players, they need a player that will change this franchise like heck yeah i will want to play for that guy. we just dont have that on this roster, we havent had that since pronger retired.

all the picks from hextall era are still here accept myers, patrick, hagg, what do you mean he doesnt care about hextall's picks? if he didnt care and traded for actual talent with hextall's players, we wouldnt be here right now.

we dont have quality players, it's that simple. the point of having young players is to save cap space so you can get quality talent, problem is dave scott is a b####, he only cares about his draft picks and hoping they become quality players, which is the freaking problem for over 40 years. until someone that actually knows squat about hockey and focus on getting quality players we are never going to win the big one.

alright on the other hand, there's no guarantee that tearing it down is going to work either, look at ottawa, buffalo, edm, arizona, they cant figure out how to win. that's probably why they dont want to go that direction. hurricanes, wild, blues tampa bay, they didnt tear it down to bare bones and just rebuild through draft. they get good picks and they also trade for players to help them. even if we did tear it down, it's probably going to be for picks and they we are probably going use them and fa to retool this roster. they are not going to build through the draft, it just doesnt work.

i guess they want to hold on to some hope with flyers since every philla team is playing like trash.
