  1. "what takes no effort?" "I'll take 'Cummulative Properties' for $200."
  2. You know you're wrong when Tuscon liked your post. Super Bowl was at least a fun game. The good guys didn't win (from an Eagles fan's perspective), but it was still fun. You stuck through it thick and thin with your teams. And you correctly b#####d about it. Sometimes not correctly, but still, the b######g was warranted. Most people would rather say nothing at all than complain--so that's where most are: doing anything rather than come here to read negative about an organization that simply doesn't care. For years, it wasn't that your ownership didn't care; it's that they were incompetent. Our ownership is both: incompetent and doesn't care. There's no evidence that successfully argues against either description. They're building a team entirely the wrong way and with the wrong players, wrong management, wrong player development, etc. etc. etc. We're still here; we're just hoping for the change. And I'm entirely too busy to waste 3 hours several times a week to tune in to watch horse manure. I can make it to Amish country and back in less time than that if I really want to see horse manure. I vaguely watch the Sabres here and there. They don't win every night and I would guess still frustrating if they're "your" team and you're emotionally invested. But they're fun to watch. Someday, hopefully the Flyers get there. But Clarke, Holmgren, Barber, and Scott have to be gone one way or the other before that happens. Until then, everything else is pointless window dressing. It's more akin to the Bill Wirtz period in Chicago or the Ballard and then OTTP period in Toronto. But yeah, you went through hell in Buffalo, too. Honestly, though, the Flyers being terrible is high among them, but there are other contributing factors to the echo you hear here. Not all of them have anything to do with the team or the site.
  3. Simply put, there is no emotion in the sport. It's been completely neutered for the "skills competition!“ crowd. It's the American Kennel Club dog show EIGHTY TWO TIMES A FRICKEN YEAR.
  4. Seems like a LOT Jeannot. And yet another first round pick going out. I don't know. Tampa needs some grit and the player makes some sense, but man, what s premium for a bottom 6 winger.
  5. Nope. And there's no proof there's gravity. This has Holmgren's signature all over it, but (legitimately agreeing) there is no proof.
  6. Agree. But for me it was always the sound of the blades on the ice, the puck hitting the stick blade from a pass or the sound of the slap shot; the "ooomph!" as someone is splattered into the boards. Because 82 games is and always was too many (especially with the kiss your sister point for the tie or--more recently-- the loser point). So many games against Arizona or Seattle, etc. are equally as pointless as the 3-game interleague series against Kansas City (or ANY game against KC). I'm with you: 162 games in baseball are about 70 too many. And roughly 24 games are too many in the NHL.
  7. I'm kind of scared you're not wrong. I mean, I'm not even tempted to tune in. I grew up on Cup teams and a team often in the finals or losing on a choke job (the Smurfs say hello). Maybe i was just spoiled. But as you alluded to, I also grew up following an emotional, violent sport. They've neutered that in favor of ice capades but without the nifty costumes (apologies to the Sharks). I know there are those "fans" watching for "skills" and truly exciting things like the shootout bbbbbbbuuu tttttt ttthhh,,..,..... Sorry, fell asleep there for a second. Take the nets down and put on Frozen and Nutcracker costumes and these people will still be highly entertained. I know it's the 21st century and safety and all that--and I get it--but we've taken away the brutal nature of the game aaaaaannnnnnddddd....zzzz*zzz Sorry. Can't help it. I'm suddenly sleepy. I think someday when the Flyers are good again, if the floor nurse is willing to wait until the game comes on to wake me up to give me my tapioca pudding laced with my Lipitor, Lisinopril, and Leqembi, I'll probably bandwagon like I do the Phillies. I'm hoping that's not the case. Hopefully, they're vaguely entertaining again (both the Flyers and the league) so I can do the above as soon as next season.
  8. Agreed. There is zero sobriety involved in even mentioning Schenn.
  9. This is reality. We don't like reality. We like soup
  10. I'm not positive I've seen a Flyers goal all year. I don't think I've watched a complete period combined.
  11. It's hard to perform when your manager is a d###. Seriously. For every who cares Foligno I'll give you players with skill, like PLB. Others. He's a douche with a "remember the middle ages?" resume. He wants to be General Patton but really is Generally Ridiculous. I've said before and will again: Torts is a side show. Period. He's won exactly squat in 19 years. There are sophomores in college who weren't alive when Torts won with a really strong team. He's a side show pompous ### that some worship for absolutely no imaginable reason other than that this organization sucks so bad that the Pennywise sideshow at least gives them something to talk about. Flush the coaching staff and the front office before ANY player personnel moves are made.
  12. Generally speaking, Flyers have no use for a cup.
  13. No matter what happens the rest of this thread: we didn't start the fire!
  14. Alright uptown tropical girl. Had to be a big shot, dincha?
  15. You may be right I may be crazy But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for. But I'm not a Leafs fan, so I got that going for me.
  16. Yeah. I could have been wrong. Wouldn't exactly be the first time.
  17. So you would think. I bet if you also went for ungodly stretches of time without oxygen, you too might struggle with simple pre-school concepts and insist on things entirely absent of reality.
  18. Weird use of "adrift." Someone went to the Mike Emrick school of English.
  19. I don't like this for Toronto. They need a top 4 defenseman and possibly a goalie and they trade picks for a washed up 3rd line center and a bottom 6 winger. I'm sorry, I don't see this changing Toronto's perennial 1st round exit. And flushing a first round pick in a deep first round-- a pick that will be somewhere between 17 and 22 -- is simply gross. I bet someone in Tuscon loves this.
  20. What's luck is your being able to find your way home without assistance.
  21. No. We're not. And it's not Bedard or burn the organization down. But you keep moving goal posts and it doesn't make any sense no matter where you're plopping your goalposts.
  22. Like every one of your posts, I disagree with every delusional word. There's not a single Cup winning team in over a decade whose core wasn't drafted by that team. Not one. Facts are facts.
