Look at every Flyers player or any player throughout the league that has had hip surgery and it's usually a year to fully rebound. Giroux, Getzlaf, Coburn, Gostisbehere all took a year to bounce back. Niittymaki's career pretty much ended as a result of the multiple hip surgeries he had. Yeah we don't know what will even become of the kid. But if they go out and sign another backup goalie instead of giving Sandström a chance to play through any issued that may arise well it will tell us they don't want Sandström anymore.
