The NHL wanted Disney as part of the NHL so badly, that they accepted the Ducks at half price for expansion, taking the $50M in fees and giving $25M of it to pay off Bruce McNall for the Ducks setting up shop in the Kings market. The mascot cascading from the top of the stadium was like an angel flowing from heaven to greet us with it's beautiful duck goalie mask. I almost teared up.
