Yeah, he's killing me.  He can wait until the playoffs to completely implode.

Totally agree....at this juncture he probably couldn't stop a beach ball!  Go over to the Ranger boards....they all are abandoning ship and calling for a complete tank and get a top 10 draft pick.....hysterical!  (I think I have seen that mentioned elsewhere for a particual team we know. )

But yes....wait for the goddamn playoffs before imploding!!

I appreciate the late Christmas gift.... ;)   However ...the Bolts are in worse shape than the Rags!

I dunno. I am pretty happy with Bishop most weeks in my work league. Despite the team not scoring diddly squat, he is still bringing me a good GAA and Sv% most weeks and a reasonable amount of wins.

If Tampa starts scoring like they can when Palat comes back from IR and Johnson/Kucherov get their act together.....the wins will pile up.

Work league: Bishop, Jones, Hellebuyck

ESPN all star league: Quick, Dubnyk, Smith(IR)

NAHANA Keeper league: Rinne, Talbot, Elliott

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok, FHL team gripe time:

Here I am cruising along with a 50+ point lead midday today, with just tonight's games and tomorrow's to go before I can claim a win against my opponent this week.

Oh sure, 50 point leads can be overcome, but I look at my lineup, see the names, Parise, Holtby, Kopitar, Spooner, and think "hey, even if these guys don't play their absolute 'A' game, with a 50 point lead, they can play AVERAGE today and tomorrow, and I will be good".

Wrong.

Ryan Spooner, who has been fantastic in replacing the injured David Krejci has looked like a complete minor leaguer against the Maple Leafs of all teams, Brayden Holtby, of all people, gets blasted by the flippin Buffalo Sabres, and loses to Chad Johnson (who it just so happens my opponent owns!), and the Minnesota Wild's offense has taken a complete nosedive the last several games, taking my FHL Zach Parise and Charlie Coyle, down with it....Anze Kopitar did alright, but was dinged for a -2 during the Kings' collapse against the Senators today....and I am getting the minimum from James Neal and Michael Del Zotto all of a sudden...both of whom had been regular contributors.

All at the same time.

I know that's how it goes sometimes but JEEEEZ....enough already guys!

My once proud 50 point lead is now down to a mere 16 as of this posting...all in the span of a few hours.

I can bounce back (maybe) and restore the lead, but I'm gonna need Parise and company to NOT get shut out again, a good game from Edmonton's Cam Talbot against the Flames, and hope my guys don't sleepwalk through tomorrow's match ups.

I SHOULD be happy with a 16 point lead with half of tonight and tomorrow to go, but when it was once 50+, ya get nervous....ya know? :blushing:

Alright.. /gripe

welcome to my world and I feel your pain. My team has been taking a nose dive now for several weeks. My top players who carried me for the first part of the season have now gone completely cold.

Well, after the dust settled yesterday, I start the day with a decent 21.6 pt lead.

My FHL opponent, Team Head Amputators, DID come away with an overall 52.4 day yesterday, but with some help from Cam Talbot late in the day, who won his game vs the Flames, i was able to muster a solid 24.5 to restore the lead I have now.

Far cry from the 50 pt lead I had midday yesterday, but 21 isn't bad entering the last day of the match up.

Things are pretty much up in the air now (maybe slanted towards me due to the lead), as I will have 6 skaters going today (though 4 are D-men). The Caps are scheduled to play, but Holtby may not get the start, and we may see Grubauer instead.

My opponent though, while having no goalies going today, will have 7 skaters, the better ones being the  2 Centermen, Plekanec and Zetterberg, Wingers Rick Nash and Marion Hossa, and Hampus Lindholm on defense.

Despite my lead of 21.6, I am not counting this a win just yet, unless guys like Stralman, Kopitar, and Kesler come out with strong games for me.

Was up on Doc by a good margin until Friday morning, when he had a huge Thursday (61 pts to 14 for me). Big night last night pulled out the W for me. Of course, I'm still 10th because of my abysmal start.

Edit: Oh, and my CBS league team, which had been racking up wins and pushed up into playoff position after a slow start there, blew a tire and only cracked double digits yesterday.
