McKeens rates Laine #1

You knew someone was going to go there after the WJHCs, it was just a matter of who...

I have to admit the Fin outplayed Auston Mathews in the big games. I just have a hard time taking a winger over a centre when they are so close. We'll see how this pans out the rest of the way...I'd just be glad for my Flyers to get either one.

Plus there were stories, admittedly over a year ago, of Laine having a pissy attitude, not very coachable, bit of a prima dona.

Maybe he's grown up a bit, but I never like to hear stuff like that. He's certainly a talent.

He certainly played well. And hard.

I wonder how much of that decision was made to get attention for Mckeens?

For sure...but if you're one to be swayed by a short tournament like the WJs (and some are) then there's some weight behind their opinion.

Another thing to take into consideration with this ranking is that Mathews was two days short of last years draft, while Laine is 7 months younger. That's almost a years difference in hockey development.

And in head to head (playing the same competition) in international play over the last 3 years, Laine has outscored Mathews 29-19.

Podein, the uncoachable prima donnas with the pissy attitudes at the WJC were from Canada! (Marner, Vertanen, Strome, Lowry).

It was hard to tell whether Strome and marner were ignoring the coach or just taking as long of shifts as they felt like as per the coaches orders...it sure seemed like the latter.

Virtanen was just plain bad.

Steve McKeen.... and The Great Escape.

Ahh.. I see what you did there. ;) Nicely done.  The Great Escape is an excellant choice for movie goers.  Nice long movie also.  Will definitely keep Umberger busy serving pop corn to Snider and company. ;)

@flyercanuck

Dunno. I see others asking in the shoutbox. When's the last time he was here? Not like him. Maybe he's not liking the new look or has some technical issues? I hope he's ok.

EDIT: his profile page says he last visited the site 3 hours ago. So he's alive I guess, or his dog is at least.

Aho has been eligible for the 2014 and 2015 drafts and everyone passed

I think you may be mistaking him and the other "Sebastian Aho," the Swedish one who plays D. 'Cause the one you are talking about was drafted by CAR in 2015 (2nd round)

EDIT: that's a lot of Ahos
