The bad news is, IMHO, today's actions confirm he has a concussion, or has failed a baseline in the last 24--48 hours. If he truly had whiplash, he would be in the building for treatment, massages, etc. There are protocols to deal with that type of injury; there aren't any/many for concussions other than rest. Keeping him away from the building, and off the roads means one thing: concussion/bed rest. That's the truly scary thing....he could be out the entire series. Not likely, but possible.

Thanks for sharing that link, I hadn't read that before. But the first thing I thought of was...how do you include someone on a roster when they aren't even under contract? I get what they did, and why they did it, but is there a limit to playoff rosters/reserve rosters? If not, why just include everyone whose rights are owned by a parent club...just in case. Just seems a tad strange to me...regardless..Ghost is signed.

I think the farm experience will be DRASTICALLY different when they are in their new home. The front office will be a bit closer than in ADK, and I think the accountability factor goes way up because of that.

Personally, I don't want Kimmo back. Sorry, but time to turn the page and start getting these young guys into the mix. It's a slight overpayment, IMO. However, it's the same money we would have paid Matt Carle. Not saying that MacDonald is equal/greater than Carle, but this just seems to be the going rate for D-men these days.

Here's what I understand, feel free to correct me. He cannot turn pro until August 15, 2015(per Meltzer). The deal with Schultz was a loophole(CBA maybe) and has now been closed. So, Ghost has 18 months before anyone else has a shot at him. In addition, that's 18 months he would lose towards his next deal/service time counted. Additionally, he runs the risk of getting hurt and not getting signed by anyone, including the Flyers, if it's a major injury. My opinion: the kid is a college kid..he wanted to go back to his small college of 2200 people and bask in the glory of an NCAA championship. Other than individual glory--a shot at the Hobey Baker--there is nothing left for this kid to do in college. He's not going to get any better playing at the NCAA from what I saw last weekend; he's simply better than most kids his age now. He'll sign with the Flyers, I'm guessing over the summer. Go to training camp, and see what happens.

I listen to what his teammates say about him. They RAVE about him. Not that you ever hear teammates "bash" a captain; but it's not often you hear players go out of their way to praise their Captain. Regardless of what we think, players respect him, listen to him, and most importantly, support and play for him.

Yeah, the recent playoff battles vs the Pens has definitely stoked the flames around here. Some of my earliest memories(I'm 44) are watching the Flyers win their Cups, and hating the Rangers. I don't know where it came from--probably my dad as he hated them as well--but I just remember ALWAYS hating the Rangers!

I know it was for Messier, not sure on Gretzky and don't have time to look it up at the moment.

IMO, not right now. Us old schoolers remember the Ranger hate well! I live right smack in the middle of PA, so it's literally half Pens/half Flyers(okay, with a few Caps fans due to the Hershey Bears). It's anarchy when Pens/Flyers play in the playoffs. I literally have people yell at me when I wear Flyers gear out. And I love it.

Flyers announcers mentioned last night that he'd rather play Center on the 4th line, then winger on the 2nd line. He's producing as a center, happy on the 4th line, and is a nightmare matchup there. I hammered him as much as anyone--granted, I still think there are back issues causing skating issues. But he's getting hot at the right time for them.

In no particular order, but I've always likes the Sharks. The hockey stick in the jaws is cool. Classically hard to argue with the Red Wings or Hawks.

I agree with many of the points made on this thread, I'm just too lazy to point them out. I didn't see where anyone referenced this tweet from Meltzer--granted everyone views players differently, so YMMV. I think MacDonald has played very well, I don't care about the Corsi numbers, etc. He makes the blue line better, settles Schenn down, makes solid outlet passes, and can skate the puck out of trouble. ALL things needed by this D group. If this is the perception of MacDonald, there is no way in hell I pay him more than $4.5/year.
