Yep...let's throw out 50 plus minutes of solid hockey..THAT MEANS NOTHING....The Orlov goal literally curved into the top left of the goal...it wasn't even on goal when he shot it. It literally curved around the 2 guys screening Mason and snuck in. The last goal was just a mistake by Mason that put him out of position to play the puck. It happens and it is a safe bet that Mason would be the first to tell you he made a bad mistake on that play. I do agree that you need to continue to keep attacking though. It is a whole lot tougher to score when the puck is at the other end of the ice. I think you will see Berube make the adjustments there. He is not the "idiot" many people thought he was........

I think Engelland will get more than 5. When he adjusted to make sure he was going to hit him he launches (NOT LEAPS) up through the hit making it a pretty devastating head shot. Engelland has always played on the hairy edge of legal as far as his hitting goes but this one was well over the line. If I were to have watched the game I probably could have picked out 1/2 dozen irritating hooks/slashes/interference that went uncalled by Abdelkader and Engelland figured he would get a good lick on JA to change his mind about his play. This is becoming a more pronounced problem with the Referees swallowing the whistle on should have been called penalties and it is leading directly to players taking issues into there own hands. I am not directing this specifically at the Pens either, this is a league wide problem that affects all teams on both sides.

Dallas Stars pest Dominic Antoine Roussel should be on this list by the end of the season. Honorable mention to the Flyers own Zac Rinaldo too. Marchand and his diving and bad acting definitely carries the active player title. Barnaby probably leads as one of the best jackasses ever but he does have a lot of competition from the likes of Darcy Tucker, Claude Lemeiux, Ulf Sammuelsson, and Ti Domi. @yave1964 I always enjoy reading the other side of the coin of someone who understands the game and doesn't wear blinders. You fit that description very well and I am certain there are several people on this board(regardless of team) that will agree. I liked Mason's response and it would have been nice to see Read tune up Gallagher. I am not sure what Gionta said but it definitely set Mason off. Rosehill will dress the next time these 2 teams play because it is going to be a chippy game. Rosehill will be assigned to Parros, not any of the other lightweights. Rinaldo has been waiting for a good reason to unload on someone if Gallagher would be able to fish his testicles out of his purse and man up. Pretty brave being the 3rd guy in jumping a goalie...... <_< I think Emilin will need to find his too after his head shot(unpunished) on Downie.

If I were not so lazy I would go through the other threads on this board and post the Raffl hate. I just did not understand it. The kid plays strong defensively and his speed makes him a much better choice for the 1st line than Hartnell. Hartnell is going to be the highest paid 4th liner in the game when Vinny Returns.....I thought that Berube might move Read to the 1st line to jump start G and play Raffl on the 3rd but I guess just maybe there was a reason that Raffl has been kept around.

I don't think I would go that far.....Briere's play severely tapered off before his buy out. Granted I am sure that part of it was injury related but Hartnell is still producing more than Briere was when he was here(his last year).

It should have been a 2 minute penalty...nothing more...Versteeg hammed it Barnaby style trying to draw the call. Did you see how quickly he got up as soon as he realized no call was coming? It was and should have been called but the flop in this case actually kept the refs arm down....you could see him intentionally look away as Versteeg hammed it up for the camera.

After the first period last night, Streit had plenty of company in the not playing up to par. Mez and Schenn both had turnovers that led directly to scores from their poor play. Mez seemed especially hideous last night. He looked like he just gave up a couple of times and Schenn(L) needs to learn to play his man and not collapse on someone else in front of the net.......

I don't understand the Raffl hate. The guy belongs on the 4th line instead of Rosehill against 28 other NHL teams. He does a decent job killing penalties and was not brought in for his offense. Streit on the other hand needs to have a curse removed or something....maybe soak his pants in lighter fluid and he will get the message.....

It should benefit the Flyers if Giroux is left off of team Canada(as he should be with his play to date) and gets to watch how players with heart and skill play. He always seems to be floating and out of position in relation to the play this year. Maybe it is going to take a blow to his ego to jump start him....I would have thought that 8 mil plus a year would have done it but that's me...... :unsure:
