    Bemidji State University has two players named to finalist pools for the World Junior Championships set to begin this month in Sweden. Eric Pohlkamp (USA) and Kasper Magnussen (Norway) may well share the ice as those nations kick off the tourney Dec. 26.

    Patrick Dwyer, assistant in Iowa, gets Wild assistant job. Great Falls, Mont., native, 40, played at Western Michigan, played in NHL, AHL and Europe, coaching background in AHL. Also, Lettieri recalled.

    Hynes comes with NCAA and Hockey USA ice cred: played/graduated (phyed) at BU, led USA development teams, assisted at Wisconsin and UMass-Lowell....

    Darby Hendrickson (12th year as assistant with the Wild), goalie coach Frederic Chabot and video coaches Jonas Plumb and TJ Kendra presumably remain in their team roles. Appears there may get be an opening for another assistant, likely one Haynes can name.....

    Icechipper witnessed a US Highway 2 sellout battle Friday with No. 1 University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks fighting back to defeat Bemidji State Beavers 3-2 on goal by Jackson Blake.

    I've been around rinks many years, coached coed youth, and had privilege of working Women's Division 1 hockey, and game is exciting and evolving. Minnesota producing great hockey players, and Euros coming over here to play in WCHA.

    Nic Petan, #19, recalled and joined Wild on Sweden trip. Apparently NHL waives salary cap restrictions to ensure Euro trip teams can filed complete rosters.
