  1. Now I get what all this prancing around a big gun was all about...
  2. It would be good to stay out of the box... PP1: Miller-Horvat-Pettersson Hughes PP2: Boeser-Höglander-Garland Ekman-Larsson Otherwise I'm pretty hopeful. With Talbot in goal the team is probably playing a lot more confident.
  3. Other former players from last year's roster: Belpedio, no NHL games yet Bonino, 5 games, no points Parise, 6 games, no points Soucy, 5 games, 1 goal Johansson, 1 game, 0 points Cole, 5 games, 0 points Pateryn, 2 games, 0 points Mayhew, no NHL games yet Hunt, 1 game, no points, plus/minus -3 Johnson, no NHL games yet Move along, there's nothing to see here. I'd say the organisation has succeeded there in determining who is worth keeping and who is not. It's more difficult to do that with prospects, but I'd say it's more than likely they have managed to assess the prospects reasonably well too.
  4. Greenway should get to the blue paint. He's too big to be evicted from there until the refs stop whistling cross-checks come playoffs time I agree on spreading the wealth, but at the same time Kap and Fiala need the experience to get accustomed to each other as they will be needed on ice simultaneously in PP situations, OT and while trailing with little time left.
  5. The lack of shooters is still a main problem. Dumba shoots, Fiala shoots. Neither are very accurate. We would still need to pair Kap with Fiala, like Judd Zulgad said in his podcast. Fiala would get 9 shots a game playing with Kap.
  6. Yup. PK, goal tending, scoring, discipline, Kap not shooting anymore - there are a lot of things that certainly look suspect. It's early, though, and everyone else is struggling too. Pointswise we're good. Now it is about fixing the problems, if we can.
  7. "You left me all alone, all I get from you is a shellshock" I think the team has no confidence on Kahkonen making a save. He can't be trusted, and as a consequence the team plays badly in front of him. It's a vicious circle. We need to play Talbot until he gets tired, and then we have no goal tending.
  8. Another game I won't be able to watch live. If I could I definitely would. This should be an exciting one, for the reasons that there are so many players playing against a team that dumped them, and Kahkonen, who is apparently playing in this one. He rattles me. I thought he might even be a future number one goalie, and now I'm afraid he might not even be a number two. Couple that with Talbot suddenly being quite shaky compared to last season, and we have a very revealing game at hand. It should definitely be a clear win, but it could as well be a catastrophic game. It's a very entertaining situation! Bad for heart, maybe but we only live once.
  9. Where did that Hartman OT goal come from!? A wicked wrister Let's see some more of those. Gibson was picking up everything, but could not catch that one. The Ducks managed to drag us to their level, but 2 points is 2 points. Another good thing in the game was that in 3 out of our 4 goals, there was a Wild player or two right next to the blue point. Duhaime scoring with his skates - those kind of goals go in even against a red hot streak goalie in the fourth round of playoffs. Keep those ones coming
  10. No lineup changes. Considering how enormously entertaining the last game was, this one is bound to be a bit disappointing. Good luck, let's have another win and two points Unfortunately I won't be able to watch this one live. Have a good game!
  11. Way too much room for him. He makes something out of nothing in much tighter spaces. He's on pace for 200 points.
  12. https://www.tsn.ca/u-s-center-for-safesport-opens-investigation-into-wild-gm-guerin-source-says-1.1710143 Accusations of Clark Donatelli assaulting Jarrod Skalde's wife, and Guerin hushing it up. If true, that leaves a nasty mark on Guerin's karma, and might cost him his job as assistant GM for Olympic US Hockey.
  13. I can already see a hungry Doug Wilson driving his car to a McDonald's in San Jose...
  14. Thanks for telling OccamsRazor. Prescribed benzodiazepines were the first step in the end of the road for my stepbro. One really needs to be as careful with prescription drugs as illegal ones.
  15. Nice GM work, for sure. The Oilers now either have a winger for McDavid or a Pulju with much more trade value. It's going to be interesting to see how he manages when he plays without McDavid or Draisaitl.
  16. At first I totally bought in on that
  17. I hope I'm not naive but I really think the NHL is going to sort the problem out. Not entirely, and not perfectly, and not soon, but I think they just can't afford to keep turning a blind eye.
