    I would think Zetterlund would be in the mix as well. Zadina's gonna have to earn that spot, cause there are probably 6 wingers gunning for that top 6.

    I'm willing to be patient on York...but he has not shown (to this point) that he has the chops to run a pp...and goal scorers don't grow on trees...really good chance Caufield gets 40+ as soon as next year.

    I think nobody is responding cause he's still a tweener. Even the crappy teams have a real good idea of who their top 6 is comprised of. So, you scrap one of those 6 for a guy who HAS to be in the top 6 or he's useless. Even then, your hoping the offense comes? Betting he also wants a 1 way deal, which is uncommon for a reclamation project. Teams just don't need the headache to take the 10% bet Stevie was wrong.

    I like the term. Still considerable upside, but an outside chance hes horrible during this deal...or very, very average. Prove you deserve a longer deal!

    Leaving out one key thing here...Michkov WANTS to be a Flyer. What are you suggesting. .the Russians keep him under lock and key at gunpoint forever? If Jimmy Devellano could do it with Federov way back in the day, I'm sure Comcast can hire a Seal team at some point!

    Question I'd like someone to ask Michkov : Besides the meeting with Flyer brass that went so well, was there anything else that made you want to be a Flyer? Favorite player? Legend of the Bullies? Cities blue collar links? Just curious what pushed him in our direction? I think he was leaning here before those 2 meetings with Flyers brass...

    If I'm reading into this correctly, this is the first shot fired between the KHL and NHL with a lack of a deal between the leagues in place. The CKSA team has chosen to not honour Fedetovs Flyer contract. Sucks, but it leaves the door wide open for NHL teams to do the same. Could potentially work out for a certain Russian superstar to come over early?

    There is a decent chance Bonk turns out to be better than Provy...making the trade as a whole a big scam when considering the other assets acquired.

    My big problem is Sanheims skinny ass arms. Such a big imposing frame and this dude can't put in some work in the weight room to build upper body strength? It speaks to a lack of desperation....coasting if you will. Hes not interested in being the very best he can be...and that is weak!!

    I think that is why we never really hear about termination waivers...cause players don't just walk away from money like that. In this case, Zadina is essentially burning 5 mill to get a fresh clean/break. Usually, a player would hold on at all cost...ride the AHL busses, hope for a buy out etc. This kinda stance is very rare.

    Unless the Detroit Free Press is wrong .... "Clearing termination waivers means no penalty to the Wings and no money for Zadina. He becomes a UFA".

    Latest word out of Detroit is the Wings and Zasina are mutually discussing waivers for the purpose of terminating the contract. Zadina gives up the 5 mill owed to him and becomes a UFA. Wings would erase his cap hit. Guess he REALLY wants a fresh start??

    I know Mason Shaw has a torn ACL...and has suffered many injuries for a 24 year guy. Veteran minimum...I take that shot. One of the toughest guys to play against anywhere. Former 94 pt guy in the Dub who transitioned to a checker. You wanna take dart throws...pick this savage bulldog. Talk about playing Flyer hockey....1 year deal can't hurt.

    Bright spot...Stall has made tons of cash in his long career....hes in this for the love of the game. A real nice thing for the Flyers to acquire. Basically the polar opposite of JVR. I'm convinced that guy uses the game as a means to an end.

    Found the reports that he told ARZ to drift HILARIOUS! Guess he stated he would never play there if drafted. Sidenote: if Shimashov was indeed the target, why not trade down a few spots and pick up a free 2nd? Poor asset management from where I sit.

    Only upset cause NOBODY is gonna give a draft pick for Mete at 5he deadline. I get you need bodies...but try and weaponize the cap space. One slight positive. We will have 2 young Goalies patrolling the crease for the Phantoms and having guys with NHL experience in front of them can help avoid ruining them from inevitable shell shock. Plus his salary can be effectively buried 100% in the AHL.

    You continually flog the one guy Torts deemed worthy of wearing a letter. You dont have to say it, its implied in every post. Just so you know, Torts is BIG and VERY choosy about giving out letters!

    I got the sense Errson gave us a great opportunity at points and a Sandstrom start was an automatic loss. Barring injuries I really doubt we ever see him in a Flyer jersey again. Even his presence on the Phantoms is denying an actual upside kid the chance to develop.
