  1. @NoSlackDelta Nope I am sticking to it. He could have been had for less. I like MacDonald's game, but that much $$ for a guy that couldn't hold the 1A spot for the Islanders seems to be a little much. Keep in mind this is Matt Carle money that he got. Looking back who would you rather have on the Flyers roster?
  2. I always was under the impression that the Winter Classic jersey from 2012 was going to be their 3rd jersey..... This stinks of a money grab in my opinion.
  3. This is as close as we're going to get in seeing #28 wearing a Predators jersey....
  4. I think you're missing the point. MacDonald was not going to turn that contract down as no other GM in their right mind would give him that deal. Schenn is a two year bridge contract and Giroux is thw subject of this debate. If he's shipped out I'd say it would be tough getting LT deals without a lot of cap crushing contracts with a lot of team unfriendly clauses. Just my 2 cents though and stranger things have happened in the NHL
  5. The more and more I look at it, I think the Flyers are stuck with VLC. The Kane aspect is interesting, but a butt ton of space would need to be cleared. Maybe Umberger and Schenn for Kane and a 2nd. However that still leaves a gaping hole on wing......I am glad I am not thw Flyers GM because this is a giant crap sandwich that Holmgren left Hextall. Oh well I give up. Happy 4th of July, it's drinky time.
  6. @aziz I see what you did there. Perhaps Kane? I'd be ok with that if that were the case. @Mario99 I think I now see your line of thinking, so after all your proposition is not dumb at all. I mistook it as getting an over the hill LW'er and shopping Schenn just for the sake of getting cap compliant. Cheers
  7. Ok I retract a previous statement that I made earlier. This is by far the dumbest $hit I have read this summer. Schenn is 22 and has far more value than that dinosaur VLC. I think VLC will be gone before opening day. Trading youth now would be a major step backwards.
  8. No offense but this is by far the dumbest $hit I have read all summer. Fisrt off G is human and had too much to drink. This is a non-story. Second, what player is going to want to sign a contract with the Flyers if there is a risk of being shipped out before it kicks in? If this were the regular season maybe this would be a bigger issue, but it was the off season and it was Canada Day. Next moving along...
  9. They should have signed Miller. That would have fixed everything. SMH..... Mason will be fine.
  10. This sums him up on my end. Special thanks to Jimmy Norton https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=3Kq0U5ycDZewyASrgoGwCQ&url=http://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DpFvIdTbaMhA%26feature%3Dkp&cd=1&ved=0CB8QyCkwAA&usg=AFQjCNGXh1qKWFN4td7e1zyRCUBZ41aOJA
  11. Thank you for the analysis TFG26. I haven't seen too much of his game, so for me, this is a solid move by the Flyers FO. I like getting a 3rd for a 4th 8n a deeper draft too.
  12. Vanek went to the Wild on a monster contract 6.5 mm per year for three years. He coveted Minny for awhile so I doubt he comes here
  13. Now I know what Giroux's real intentions were in this pic..... Wonder if he's a party boy down in 9th and Chestnut in the Gayborhood. My bets are he works out at the 9th street gym... NTTIAWWT
  14. So he's playing a little grab a$$? My goodness a "MALE OFFICER"? F'n fudgie caught doing a little frottage. There was a guy I knew who used to do that in clubs to girls, you know walk by and brush their butts with his hands. Well turns out he was a serial rapist that is spending a LONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG time in jail. Not saying Giroux was or is that, but he definitely is guilty of a little grab a$$.
  15. It probably will happen soon. He is a good player, but does not fit the make up of the Flyers roster. I'd imagine that he'll go to a team that will basically guarantee him to be a 2nd line center or better.Kind of like the deal Jagr got a few years back. I do not know what Holmgren promised VLC last summer, maybe he thought he could convert Schenn to a LW or something along those lines. I also do not like Couturier and Read on the 3rd line. I want to see if they can actually become prolific scorers. The make up of this team is not good. I'd like to see if Simmonds can flip to LW and play on the top line and move Read to the 2nd line. Who knows?
  16. @J0e Th0rnton "We now have 15 million in cap space....." You think Hextall can borrow a few bucks?
  17. @TropicalFruitGirl26 @sarsippius Thank you. He is going to be tough due to his sister being the household enforcer lol. @pags569 Congrats. Lots of summer babies. It looks like late October and early November we're some busy months by the looks of things.
  18. @Poulin20 Congrats Dad! My newest Flyers Fan was born 6/15/2014. It's a great feeling.
  19. @Vanflyer Gleason- 4mm for two years Upshall- 3.5mm for one year VLC ordinary buyout- 14mm over 8 years I'd lean towards Upshall, but if he'd go to Dallas and they send picks that would be the best option. ***correction*** Gleason waived
  20. Not a bad idea lol. Dallas is nice in the winter....I think....
  21. Gleason stinks. Upshall stinks. The picks would be great, but I think Dallas may not be on his list of destinations. Wonder how high picks would be though?
  22. No. Not even if he paid the league to play. He stinks on ice.
  23. @murraycraven "he was not brought over to play in the NHL and will be given every chance to make the Flyers" This seems odd. On one hand he was not brought over to play in the NHL; however, if the opportunity presents itself, he has a chance to make the Flyers? I hope he gets his postcards ready that say "Greetings from Allentown....."
  24. Best player not in the NHL....where did I hear this before? says Hi
  25. Zac Parise? Whoops not 2003 I guess. My guess is they go with a forward and the best one available on the board at 17. Being this is Hextall's first go around as a drafting GM, my guess is he'll go rather conservative. I'd imagine Kapanen or Larskin. I'd lean towards Larkin due to his USHL development program and his size. Now if Hextall goes big, I can see them trading the 1st overall and a solid roster player (B. Schenn) to move down. Perhaps make a roster shake up with Edmonton and take Bennett, but that screams re-build in my book. The only way I see the move down happening is if Schenn cannot be signed to reasonable terms and a cap floor team would be willing to take him on.
