yeah. clearly im suggesting this with the thought they would be out of the playoff picture
if they aren't, you have to keep him. on topic though, i'd like to see G bounce back. maybe these moves send him a littel message. i've been arguing for a while that there was a cancer in the locker room. well, i think its been cut out. if G was ever going to step up, now is the time
JVR will do nicely on the 3rd line, especially with young talent pushing to take his spot. Coots isnt going anywhere. I see him as the next captain and team leader. Giroux? Thanks for your service, go have a chance to win a cup
I stated elsewhere, it would be sneaky if G was traded to a contender at the deadline, with a high pick coming back for next years draft
Then Coots sews on the "C"
Let me explain...no. there is too much...let me sum up
Flet h trades for Ellis, this is good. he trades for Risto, this is bad. He trades Joke for Cam, this is good
If Fletch knew, prior to all of us melting down, that he had the Voracek trade in place, and that the cost for Risto would be picks he didn't need for the Voracek trade, is this good?
is this where we cue:
we made calls but there just wasn't a move out there.
no one wants to take on term.
scouting was limited.
we feel good about what we did.
we are strong on wing.
we are better at defense.
the lines are open.
if there is a move out there, i will keep my options open
@OccamsRazor
In trying to grasp for my last breath of sanity, I lie to myself that there must be some reasoning behind this. Its possible that there is something there that we can't see, and a surprise in looming. Let me say this right away, I DOUBT IT. The only remotely comparable thing I think of is Jon Leclair. He wasn't much better than a good player for 5 seasons in Mtl. Then he exploded in Philly. Again, I DOUBT IT. But like I said, I'm gasping for sanity while suffocating in lunacy
Life long Flyer fan since I was old enough to know what hockey was. Bobby Clarke was my first favorite Flyer. During that time, the Flyers were always competitive and damn tough to play against. This was thier identity. It's what drew such a huge following of fans, especially outside of Philly. It's obvious that identity is over, for a long time.
I dont have a second favorite team. I don't live in a geographic area that follows a local team. I love hockey because of the Flyers. I dont follow it otherwise. Finding another team would have to be a willful choice, and that doesn't normally translate to real fandom.
Each season I watch fewer and fewer games. No more Center Ice. I feel my interest just eroding away with each off season. And worst of all, I'm not missing it. Mostly because what I loved has been gone, and will not come back. It really is a shame. Flyer fans are the best. We are being robbed and duped with little we can do about it
Isnt "Hockey Junkie" a Buffalo fan? The fact that he is on here, trying to make us see some good in this, is proof enough. He is secretly elated this happened, knows the Flyers are stoopid and is feeling sorry for us
