  1. You know me long time, so you know my attitude toward Boudreau (he won't cut down a cherry tree, or something). But you are entirely accurate in assigning blame here. I've never actually been a Rutherford fan, either, so I was not at all impressed with any of the "leadership" in Vancouver, but it would have been nice if Boudreau had at least been given something, anything, to work with there.
  2. I've seen this reference before. I honestly don't see it. If the Monopoly guy and Droopy Dog had a kid...
  3. He deserves it. I never have and never will be a Boudreau fan. I have always felt--and always will--that the guy is a fraud. While he was in Washington, I'll always believe they'd have won a Cup with a different coach. I thought he was terrible at every stop. Some idiotic GM will fire their GM and go ahead and hire him yet again. He's terrible. I honestly don't understand what is wrong with front offices who look at a guy's track record and soberly say "gotta git me summalat." Those GMs should be fired, too.
  4. You know, seriously. There is not a damn thing worth discussing about this **** hockey team on this **** site that hasn't been beaten to death ad nauseum. The Flyers have something happen that makes national news that is actually worth discussing and apparently we're so incapable of discussing in an adult manner that it causes the mods to have to way overreact and wipe out all mention of said national news, including posts that soberly, without malice or attack simply expressed personal opinion on said national news topic. I'm not trying to throw the mods under the bus here. They're good, honest people who go out of their way to do their best so I don't know what went on but I know they did what they felt they had to and after a lot of thought. But for the life of me, outside of my participation in the fantasy hockey leagues, I can't figure out why the hell to bother. Sorry for the rant, and this will be deleted since this is 1000 times more aggressive than my previous, now deleted or hidden post, but this sucks. I now return you to your stream of regurgitated vomit on the most recent pointless Flyers game.
  5. Agreed. I have to again consider my continued membership here
  6. I know, right? I've hit my 3-year cogent thought quota.
  7. I'm glad they've been able to get his feat wet against the teams that are on the lower end. But honestly, "the none of these are good teams" teams still have players on skates and presumably carrying sticks. I mean, Risto is still on the ice sometimes, so...
  8. Provorov doesn't survive the trade deadline as a Flyer. Write that down I'm just sad that it will be Fletcher that does it because it will be Provorov and a 3rd for Giordano. He had to throw in the 3rd because no one was interested in Giordano he's never lost a trade to No One. Only to Everyone.
  9. It's not as if the Caps are the 1985 Oilers,, either. They're a very uneven, underperforming team that will probably squeak into the playoffs but no guarantee. I realize any random group of people on skates are a legitimate measuring stick for Philly, but the "oooh, they beat the Caps" is a bit comical. The Flyers are going nowhere. They're only again doing what they can to miss out on a good pick and perpetuate the justification for not bothering to waste one's time watching them. @aziz, I miss hockey, too. The good old days when Philly had a team.
  10. I would much prefer Luukenen myself. I think Adam's hands are tied since Luukenen is still waiver exempt and he probably needs either the roster spot or the cap room. Carolina is about to face the same issue with their kid goalie.
  11. Wouldn't be the first time you're wrong I suspect just today. No I assure you with no doubt, they are that bad.
  12. I was all for the York pick. I really liked what I saw watching him. I was concerned about his size. I really thought Caufield was a juniors player that would be run over in the NHL. The jury is still out on York but so far I was wrong on Caufield. I think York is more about Tortorella being overly careful (no stones here; I'm okay with it). Hard to prove the negative and I'm only mostly seriously: if Caufield was drafted by the Flyers he'd already have been destroyed and on his second concussion and dealing with a core muscle injury. You know I'm not wrong here.
  13. True story. The notification from Yahoo about this trade just now came in AS I was reading this post. While reading your post i was really trying to figure out how ERIK Karlsson was going to get you faceoffs. I realized on my own but it took way too long to remember the Knights Karlsson even exists. Decent trade.
  14. A couple years ago, they installed a series of traffic roundabouts here in the area. There's a series of four along about a half a mile stretch. The locals here are imbeciles on many levels, one of which is a complete inability to rationalize how to properly navigate these. It is often vastly more entertaining watching these than it is a Flyers game. They stop at entering the circle despite the fact no one is in the circle or has been. Apparently they're incapable of looking as they approach. They stop while in the circle despite the fact this is cardinal sin and despite having right if way, apparently because posting the "do not stop in circle" signs in English was a poor choice. All four circles each have only three spokes, including the one you enter. Yet, some of these hillbillies drive around the circle a couple times either because understanding where they exit is too confusing or because they're trying to catch the brass ring. And my absolute favorite: they go around the wrong way because staying to the ####ing right is too an unusual concept in North America. Much more entertaining than the Flyers, but oddly similar to watching Ristolainen figure out where to go in the defensive zone. Or the offensive zone. Or the neutral zone. Or the bathroom.
  15. Please tell me this is sarcasm or trolling. Or is it utter delusion? No doubt the Sabres can score, that's not my objection. The Flyers are terrible and, for most of us, unwatchable. Among those still watching regularly, only those with impaired hippocampus believe this team is actually improved. It won't happen until current management is fired or fired upon and destroyed.
  16. First, hi. Welcome back! Yeah, I agree taking a Russian is extremely unlikely. With what happened to Getting Fedotov, the Flyers may never take a Russian again. Though Fletcher is attracted to self-inflicted failure.
  17. I have vastly less movement in this league than in NAHANA in terms of trades, but largely because I can't find a dance partner. I add/drop a lot more here because I'm not worried about next season implications. But somewhere along the line in the attempt to add a couple extra points at the end of weeks, I add/dropped myself into a pretty bad team in terms of skaters. I hesitated on this trade because I had traded my way into a position of strength in goaltending and could at least compete in peripherals (although not against the stronger teams there--especially against Yave, but who can?). Draisaitl was attractive but gvien my team the question was (and remains), "does he really move the needle in terms of competitiveness?" The answer, in my estimation, is sadly "no." But, at least I'll be vaguely entertained from here on out by having Draisaitl and two decent goalies and Fleury. The outgoing players have been simply terrible over the past month. Aho has been particularly disapointing, but really, the stats over the last 30-40 days are just bad across the board. Yave described it as "depth," and that's accurate. None are waiver material and Provorov at least adds to Yave's peripherals (like a cup of water adds to the ocean). The point to this for him is ultimately the goalie, of course. I was happy to get a goalie back in this because I really do want to run with three or I wouldn't have traded Point for Hellebuyck.
  18. I've weighed and accepted trade offers while driving before and did for this. I should probably stop doing that, huh?
