I am by no means defending Chuck here, but we have seen this over and over again the past 10 years. I am certain the bean counters are screaming at Holmgren and Scott to get in the playoffs so they can count the receipts with their greasy greedy little Mr Burns fingers. I think that is the pressure he is under, as was Hextall. The corporate pigs know nothing about hockey, they only know how to be selfish greedy cork soakers. And so the Flyer drive for mediocrity goes on.

The organization really is run like a family business that has been bought up by a finance holding company and simply squeezed of all its life.

Even under Snider since Comcast became involved.

And it will remain that way as long as Comcast is involved.  It's kind of like their repair service.  "Contender will arrive sometime between 10 am and 2032. Please make sure someone is home during that time."

I'd almost prefer Morin next to York if they actually are having York start the season in Philly.

I don't have much patience for Braun.   I suppose the reasoning is "veteran with the rookie."   I get that, but I'm not thrilled with the choice of vet.  I suppose we could do worse.

On the other hand, I'd almost argue to put York up next to Risto so one player on that pair can play defence (York) and put Sanheim with Braun so Braun can "stay at home" while Sanheim plays more of a transition/offense guy.

I'm down for icing the top 6 whoever they are!!!

I saw on the twitters that he's fast, like stupid fast.

Need more of that but they won't see him for 4 years...

...but on the surface seems like a good pick.

What do we know about Samu Tuomaala?  Anything?

@radoran will be instantly happy.

All I know is he's got nice wheels, was rated in mid first and is supposed to be one of the better goal scorers in the draft. Dont know why he fell.

Getting this Tuomaala kid is kinda like a 1st round pick. It does not excuse the Risto debacle, but makes it easier to stomach.

The other thing I was very happy about was this Belarus goalie in the 3rd. This team badly needed quality Goalie prospects and this kid fits the bill. Snagging the 2nd rated European goalie in mid 3rd is respectable value. This kid kicked serious ass for Belarus at last years World Jr's. Very promising!!

Craig Button had him at 19 in his final ranking. Mystery why he fell so far down.

grabbed a cop's ass?

You've been pretty high on the Shane McKnight kid in 22 is he better than Bedard who's in 23 ?

Looks like the next 2 drafts are going to have ++ players at the top.

Shane Wright is a 200 foot high IQ player, Bryan Trottier type player. Connor Bedard is an elite level high skill passionate goal scorer. Both foundation of a franchise players. BUT, they are kids, hopefully they stay on the curve, no reason to think otherwise just now.
