You know, perhaps Evason should do drills with a 45 second timer and get his players used to playing with that mentality ALL game.

Uncanny how this team comes up with goals when there is little to no time left, but can't bury a puck in the Grand Canyon with plenty of time...

Fiala's mistake cost us an empty netter goal in our net at the end of the game.

Still game was not too bad. 38 our shots vs their 37 shots during the game. We were competitive, IMO. I predicted this score, but with our win.

Most of the game until late in 2nd was why we needed to pull the goalie.
Can't put blame on just 1 guy in this one.
Played very well in the 3rd.

Agree. 😓. Sad from this game , that we did not get at least one point. Tomorrow game practically a playoffs game against 2 years in a row Stanley Cup winner will be not an easy one too. They are a very offensively minded team and have a pretty good goalie as well. Wish to see more production for these  games from our defense as well as from Fiala, Greenway, Sturm to add more points in our production.  Hope, we will be able to compete well on Sunday game.

Like I said earlier, This game should at least condition us for tomorrow's. No adjustments needed.
But we'll need more of 3rd period play to compete with TB.

Saw early pull last night attending U of M-Duluth at UND college game  UND pulled goalie with 3 minutes left. Also different, shorthanded UND defenders held onto their sticks even when their goaltender lost his. Used to be one of the Dmen hand off their stick but probably better to leave that stick in the defenseman's arsenal and let goalie square to the play, hope for a whistle..

Sorry, I am not sure that post should be in another thread?🤔

Got to give them credit to continue to battle all the way to the last second.  Still, losing Spurgeon sucks and Kulikov had a rough night.

Kaprizov seems to be playing like he did last year and the team is still finding other ways to score even with snakebit Fiala struggling.  Speaking of Fiala, I thought he worked his ass off tonight.  I thought early on the Wild were guilty of trying to be a little too fancy with the puck on the crappy Florida ice.  Once they simplified the shots started to pile up.

it won't get much easier tomorrow in Tampa Bay.

Good effort against a clearly stronger team. With luck we might even have won this game IF not for these problems:

1. The 4th line, they had horrible plus/minuses despite little TOI

2. 3rd d-men pair had a horrible game as well

3. Talbot is not close Bobrovsky

4. A humongous amount of odd-man rushes again

How difficult is it to fix these problems? We can have 4th line guys and 3rd pair d-men from the prospect pool or buy them. Odd-man rushes and neutral zone coverage is a a lot about coaching. Coaches are cheap and there are a lot of them. Jesper Wallstedt is a steady wall of a goal tender - you can tell it just by his name, just like you can tell that Dumba will make a lot of dumb mistakes, and Hartman is a hard-playing heart and soul guy.

Lots of positives. They played a man's game, but so did we. Kaprizov was very good again, despite the fact that the Panthers were excellent in "controlled aggression" as their commentator said. Fiala was motoring, despite the slump in scoring still continuing. In a year or two we could have a chance of winning these kind of games without luck.
