DaGreatGazoo
I completely missed the play they are talking about.Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta will meet with NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan today to discuss a head-butting incident on Jakub Voracek from Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The incident occurred five minutes into the first period during a battle for the puck along the boards. Kaleta stepped helmet-first into Voracek, catching the Philadelphia player on the helmet and visor and knocking him backwards. No penalty was called and play continued. flyercanuck
Kaleta is a dirty bastard. He's got a history of cheap shots and suspensions, including a previous headbut.
Dynamo 47
Kaleta is a dirty bastard. He's got a history of cheap shots and suspensions, including a previous headbut.Yes he does. What kind of ticked me off is that I believe it was Gaustad goes after Giroux and there is no retaliation? Sorry but screw the NHL and their rules. When you have a big guy like that who is several skating strides above a goon going after your best player it calls for swift and immediate retaliation. I thought that Shelley would at least talk to him and try to get him to go
Podein25
I want Kaleta's head on a platter the next time we play them. After we're up 5-1, of course. He is an absolute piece of crap.

I was chatting at the time, and we were all like..time for Shelley, Rinaldo and Simmonds, if that's how the Sabres wanna play. If the Flyers got up 4-1, that game would have gotten ugly-quick. IMO. The Hoff
Gazoo, I was really happy to see that Shelley's presence and intimidation factor prevented Kaleta from skating around taking cheap shots on our players. I'm sure Couturier, Voracek, and Giroux are all thanking Jody today for all the protection he provided last night. All that protection and such a useful, multi-skilled game he brings otherwise. AJgoal
FWIW, they showed Shelley as the team was leaving the ice at the end of the period just staring over at the Buffalo players while everyone else went down the chute. Seemed pretty obvious that if he was on the ice, he would have done something.Of course, nobody puts the goon on the line with your skilled guys anymore. AJgoal
telling? Not really an antonym for ironic that fits this context. Besides, let's leave semantics on the other board.
