Greetings:

We still don't get any respect from the bookies:  CBJ is favored (-150), despite losing the last four games and average 4.58 GA over that stretch.

It looks like Hart vs. Merzlikins.  Other than faceoffs, we are ahead on every category.  In goals allowed average, we are 4th.  They are 31st.

Meh, I wouldn't worry about garnering the "bookies' respect".

They could care less who wins, but, they sure know how to put odds out there to bolster "the house".
Sounds like they are trying to lure in unsuspecting betters to put big money on the Jackets (because Philly "isn't supposed to be winning"), and they clean house when the Flyers win.

I like Philly in this match up, even though on paper, Columbus SHOULD be better.
They don't play on paper, so I am gonna go with the Flyers who are at least playing as a real team vs Columbus who looks all kinds of disjointed right now, and I even thought I saw someone post something about Merzlikins wanting OUT of Columbus..........that can't be good for them and their morale.

To top it off, I bet John Tortorella has his boys extra prepared to beat his old team.
Coaches can be spiteful like that......sometimes worse than the players themsevles! :bigteeth:

Looking forward to seeing numerous turnovers from #93 in Blue tonight. We don’t have to worry him scoring against his ex-team because he doesn’t like to shoot the puck.

Hopefully the Flyers can help Jake on his march towards -50 this season (currently -7)

Dear TFG, Yes, the sportsbook I embedded actually recommended putting money on the O and B.  Hope all is well with you, despite "slumming" on the Flyers Board!

And you see, THIS is why, as much as I am tempted to, I never bet real money on sports....much less hockey.
Columbus and Merzlikins, playing like complete garbage for several games prior, look like contenders tonight, while the Flyers can't seem to get on the scoreboard.

Yep, tonight they look cruddy. Hart looks human.

I'm at work tonight.

Haven't even turned it on.

Hayes line -3 all I need to know.

If only someone around had advised us not to sign Kevin Hayes we wouldn't be in this predicament.

Oh well.

That's what you get for being so gullible :bigteeth:

Did I say -3 my bad.

Hayes said hold my beer how about -4!!!

Good ol Haysey.
I actually have him on one of my fantasy hockey teams.

When I got him, I was thinking how well he had been working within Torts' system.
I suppose I should understand that K. Hayes is STILL K. Hayes and he's gonna have his minus moments...many in fact....but, I will hold out hope and keep him on my team to see if he can get back to contributing assists like he was before as well.

I gave up after the third goal.  They made too many mistakes/turnovers and Hart looked human; wonder if he was really up to the task or just having a bad night.  Torts is right--they have to focus on north-south because their lateral movement is no good. I suspect Tippett is next in the doghouse.

Let me preface this comment that I have zero proof about what I'm about to say so here goes...

...my thought is the reason they brought Torts in as was stated was to evaluate the roster and get them back to playing some sort of competitive hockey.

Which we have seen.

At season's end once all the data/evidence call it what you will is done and collected I really think we could see an end to either Hayes and/or both Risto's career in Philly.

As I said no proof what so ever but Torts was the guy because he is not a former Philly guy and not a guy from Minnesota but what he is is a outside voice/opinion and I feel he is going to tell them what they don't want to hear but they need to hear.

And either this summer or by next trade deadline the following season the two albatrosses could be gone.

I don't care if they have to eat 50% of both of them's salary it needs to be done owned up to a mistake.

If not well we know they are morons but if not they will have proven without a shadow of a doubt they are dumber that dirt.

And with that said I still don't have to watch while this is taking place I will monitor from a distance. I don't have time to waste on mediocre hockey.

If they eat that money for 3 years on Hayes and 4 years on Risto it would free up 6.1 mill to spend else where on the roster preferably on a forward who can score when they need it most.

My 2 cents.

My guess would be this one really stings for Torts and everybody's going to be in the doghouse tomorrow.

I lost count of how many odd man rushes they gave up. No match for the speed and skill of Columbus's big line.

Wow you suffered through.

You are brave...

We will lay an egg on occasion. Every team does. But as Gritty Forever notes, this one exposed our weaknesses.  I'll agree with JJ that Provy and Tony D may be a pretty good duo. On the downside, Nic's fights are becoming a boring habit--that is Madeline Campbell's take and I agree 100 percent.
