LV Phantoms and other Flyers Prospect discussions 2015-2016

Almost a fight between Tyrell Goulbourne and NHL veteran Patrick Kaleta. Looked to me like Kaleta turned down Goulbourne's invite.

Phantoms lose 3-1.

Morin body language was of absolute dejection after he accidentally batted the puck into his goal. Stolarz and others there to pick him up.

I wouldn't mind Hextall offering Ivan's team mate Macoy Erkamps a 2 year ELC and let him play on the Phantoms. I think he would be worth a look as a undrafted free agent. Phantoms could always use another right hand on the blueline. 6-0 198 hey it's worth s shot. They have the contract space. He could replace a Drewsie for next year.

Could add some more grit and sandpaper for them.

Sure this year is an overage season for him but only one defenseman has more point in the WHL than him (70 pts) and that is Ivan (72 pts).

Man him and Goul would make playing versus the Phantoms very painful!!!!:CelebratingSmiley2:

Phantoms lose in OT. Up 2-0 only to lose in OT 3-2.

What happened to Konecny was he sick he didn't play in Sarnia's 5-2 win.

Philippe Meyers picks up an assist in their 7-3 win.

Provorov picks up an assist in a 6-2 win.

Sanheim picks 2 assists in a 5-2 win.

Sarnia locked up their division title and couldn't catch Erie/London for Conference champ so I assume they sat him. Not sure why they played Zacha or Chychryn. Maybe Travis is a little beat up.

TK with a huge night. 2 goals and 3 assist to give him a 100 points on the season!!!

http://new.ontariohockeyleague.com/article/saturday-highlights-konecny-takes-sting-to-new-heights

Konecny reached the 100-point milestone in the win while helping the Sting reach new single-season marks for wins (42) and points (91), eclipsing records set in 2003.

Since North Dakota was eliminated the other say another one of Hak's favorite Dman i wouldn't mind them signing to a 2 year ELC. Troy Stecher. A solid 2 way Dman with a right hand shot. 5-11 192.

It's time to get some more young Dmen with an upside and get rid of the Drewskie types.

So Provorov 1 point shy of leading the whole CHL in points for Dmen.

Samuel Girard (QMJHL) leading all with 5 more games played than Ivan.

I'd love to see him get it but i think they have played their last game.

He'll at least get the title in the WHL unless Sanheim scores 6 points in his last game today.

OR - meanwhile Sanheim has a 1.3 ppg pace this season. The last time a WHL defenceman scored at that pace...Sanheim wasn't even born.

Sweet. Phantoms will love have him next year. In fact they are hurting bad after they lost Ghost. No one on the roster who can really inject some skill into the struggling PP.

Sanheim will do just that. He will be a God send to them. Hagg it seems is still trying to find himself and well Morin is a stay at home type.

Morin and Sanheim may combine to give them a true #1 D pair they may find some much needed chemistry.

Or you could see the Dpair divided like so...

Sanheim-Alt

Morin-Willcox

Hagg-Pettersson

Marti

That would be a good balance with a right shot on each pair.

It would be refreshing to see something, anything, worth watching with this club.  What a huge disappointment they've been.  I'm not sure I even want to go to the rest of this year's games.  Tyrell and Leier are the only two worth watching right now and both are slumping.

On Provorov......

for those who missed this last night...

Wheat Kings PBP guy Bruce Luebke wrote an article stating why he thinks Provorov should win the WHL MVP award.

Link: http://bdnmb.ca/bruce-lue.../the-cas...of-the-year/33

He ends it with this.

"I, of course, have the added privilege of watching Provorov play every night and it gives you a real appreciation of just how good a player he is.
If the above doesn’t convince you, perhaps this will. I’ve been broadcasting the Wheat Kings’ for 23 years, saw Wade Redden, Ryan Pulock, Bryan McCabe and other great defenceman pass through the organization and I’ll say this...Provorov is the best defenceman to wear a Wheat Kings’ uniform during my tenure!! If that doesn’t sway voters Provorov’s way, nothing will."

Very nice!

Frozen Four about to start. Flyers only have two prospects in it. Merrick Madsen goaltender for Harvard. Cooper Marody for Michigan.

A nice LW and Finn i'd love the Flyers to try and sign would be Ahti Oksanen for Boston University.(last year was his 1st after switching from defense)

6-3 209

Another LW worth looking into Brandon Tanev for Providence.

Team mate Nick Saracino

Defenseman

Andy Ryan for Notre Dame a right hand shot

Alexx Privitera a Torey Krug type another right hand shot.

I don't know about another 5'10" forward, but the write up on your boy Stecher is pretty fantastic: "His impact upon the game occurs at both ends of the ice as an offensive and defensive force.

I also like that he's a leader - "C" of his tier two Jr team in BC and an "A" in ND.

Nice i knew this was coming soon. A smart stay at home Dman with a nice 1st pass to get the puck out the Dzone. Phantoms/Flyers need guys like that.

Who knows he could be a Flyer next year. He is pretty much the same size Giroux was when he started in the NHL. Just sayin....he and Ivan would be a great addition...

I'm banking on Konecny being a Flyer next year. I expect to see Umberger, Read and maybe White or Vande Velde gone. That leaves openings for Weal, Leier and one other player. I thought Aube-Kubel would be a nice fit, but after this season in junior, Konecny will be that guy. I expect him to be on the right wing of Laughton - Cousins to start the year. He's going to be a lot of fun to watch.
