He's coming off a $6M AAV contract and, quite frankly, his numbers simply do not warrant that (nor, IMO, his "intangibles" or his "ice presence"). YMMV, which is fair. He could be the Hartnell-type forward they are looking for and is only 28. But I wouldn't want to pay a 20/50 guy $6M+ for long term. Lucic has also expressed interest in staying on the West Coast and so might want a premium to come East to the Flyers. I could see Vancouver (which he has expressed interest in) picking him up. We are 3-4 years away, no way do I go after him. He will not help the team to improve significantly.He will want a long term deal and big $$ and just as we start to be contenders he will be on his way down and another bloated contract. Otherwise, it's too much money tied up in three players. EDIT: I say that, but then I went to look at the Pens, Caps, Hawks, etc. They also have 3-4 huge salary eaters.
