  1. It's time for Hurdle, the Pirates coach, to blow a casket or two! How do you miss to the Giants 13-5?

At least the Dodgers beat up on the Padres. Their lead is now 3.5 games lead over the D'Backs, who lost to the Rockies!

I'm not so sure the coach in Pittsburgh blowing ANY amount of gaskets is gonna help.  The Pirates simply don't have the depth at any position to contend the way I thought they would.  Sure, they have good players at the starting positions...but beyond that, not much else it seems.   Add to that underperforming players like Andrew McCutchen (who should be near the league leaders in like, everything) and you can see Pittsburgh has a problem this year.

As for LA, well, they are the Dodgers. The Yankees of the West. As dirty as THAT sounds. :dizzysmiley-1:

They were expected to contend and they started off slow, but now are doing what they were supposed to.

Cept they still have some competition from Arizona and Colorado.

Looks like the Rockies maybe have fixed their issues...for now.

Giants are just downright awful this year.....just....plain....bad..

Hard to believe this is the same team that won two World Series not too long ago...

I am surprised at the Giants myself. Maybe the team fundamentals are off (whatever that means!) Maybe each player is trying to be a hero and they're looking like goats!

The pirates. I believe ownership wants to play for the top wid card spot instead of a division crown or a World Series title!

The Dodgers were bridesmaid the last couple of years! I'm hoping they could take the next step and win the World Series  (hopefully they could beat the Yankees.)

  2. It also sounded as if the Rays weren't getting the timely hitting against the Pirates! For what the little that I heard Nova (I think) didn't have good control! For some off the wall reason the Rays could not hit him!

Rays are squarely a .500 team. Nothing more, nothing less.

They look like contenders for a stretch, then look like bottom feeders the next.

Outside of Evan Longoria, Chris Archer and maybe Alex Cobb, the team has a serious consistency problem.

This is pretty much what you will see from this team all year.  They finish a game or two below, at .500, or a game or two above.  Nothing special from my guys this year, sadly.

Sounds like the Pirates! I don't expect a winning season from them. To be honest, I may have seen my last winning season by the Pirates a few years back. I turn 58 on December 18th of this year!

  3. What is up with the Rockies?  Losers of 8 straight! To be honest I like see that.

Not sure. Maybe the Rocks are just hitting their slump. They haven't really had one and all teams get them. Still though, maybe they have been playing over their heads and now they are falling back to reality.

They are just giving up a crapload of runs. Hard to win that way.

I'm hoping the Rockies are playing over their heads! It's one less team to worry about for the Dodgers!

  5. Im curious on why some of my comments day that the content has been restored! What was wrong with them?

  6. I curious if the Pens would trade for MAF?:hehe:

Good luck to Vegas with him in net!

I can't wait to see the reaction of Pens fans when Vegas comes to towns!

  10. Welcome aboard!

I was hoping for a rematch of 92!

  11. Agree with you on the Kings uniforms! I liked the uniforms of the mid to late 70s! Should bring those back.
  12. Similar to the Canucks in the early 90s!
  13. Any talk on team 32?

  14. Did Vegas select a coach?

I don't remember hearing about them hiring one?

    1. nossagog

      nossagog

Yeah, they hired Gallant back in April.    He coached Florida for a while.

Ok thanks! Sorry for missing a lot! Unfortunately I trying to correct a very bad time 15 years ago I am working two low paying jobs to try to make some money to retire! It's costing me the things I enjoy! Sorry to ask the stupid questions!

    3. nossagog

      nossagog

Well questions cost $0 dollars, so don't worry about that costing your retirement fund.

  15. Nice call on the team that wins a road game will win the cup!

      You're welcome! :IDunnoSmiley:

  16. Don't mean to make you angry about Fleury!  Game 6 I thought the Pens were asleep in that game!  I was hoping he would make a few unbelievable saves to wake up the team! It seemed like he also fell asleep!

I notice Jarry was scratched last night, was Murray the backup?

Thanks! I only get a little proved at him when I think he should have made a save and didn't a key moment . I use hockey to vent a little frustration!

We all do, in those first few years when he was flopping around like a fish I think I pulled most of my hair out. Now?  Well you have to give him is due so far.

      notfondajane

Yes agreed! And it's about time!

To bad we couldn't play and beat Philadelphia this year.

  17. Is Mark Streit hurt? I haven't heard his name!

    1. nossagog

      nossagog

No, he's just not in the lineup since both Maatta and Daly have come back.   Right now he's fighting for the 7th spot with Ruhwedel.  So unless someone gets hurt, he'll be in the press box.

Thank you! I was wondering why he disappeared! :scratcheshead:

  18. Out of curiosity why do you root for the Flyers?  If I asked before I apologize old age has got the best of my memory!

I was a Bobby Clarke fan as a kid. Just stuck with them ever since.

I'm the same way about the Dodgers.

Bob Moose tossed a wild pitch against the Reds in 1972 which scored the winning run putting them in the world series!

The Dodgers were the arch rivals of the Reds at that time! I stayed with them still today.

  19. Do you know why the Steelers (Squellers)wear their logo on one side of their helmet?

      LOL  No, why?

      Their a half assed organization!

  20. Tell the wife, Columbus had played a good series and had a excellent season! Playoff structure needs another format! Also GO PENGUINS!

  21. I am curious if the N.H.L is thinking of putting another team in the bay area to rival the sharks similar to Kings/Ducks since there is a new arena being built in San Francisco and the Raiders and Warriors leaving Oakland in the next few years? Have you heard anything? JC!

    1. hf101

      hf101

Nope, nothing has been decided at this time.

    2. notfondajane

      notfondajane

Thanks I THINK that would be an interesting move on part of the N.H.L!

Should it happen, it would be the 5th time that the N.H.L has moved into a city which had lost a team! (Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Saint Louis and Minnesota. 6 if you count the N.Y. Islanders eventually replacing the N.Y. Americans!)

  22. I am embarrassed to ask, Mike Babcock is coaching the LEAFS correct? I remember him being let go by the Wings. Someone pick him up but I don't remember whom! Sorry old age is taking over!

  23. Welcome aboard hope to a friendly and fun chat about hockey!

  24. How was Hainsey and Malkin hurt this time? Greg

    1. nossagog

      nossagog

I didn't see anything with Hainsey, and the Pens are so secretive that we'll never know where he got injured.

As for Malkin, from what I've read, he's had an  issue for some time now, and I think the Pens simply put him on ice to heal.

At this point of the season, they're in, and health is more important that seeding IMHO.

      Dave

Thanks I wonder why every year this team is like this?! I understand injuries happen. It's the same every year, it's one player comes back some one else goes down  (key players)it's old!
