  1. This. Sorry to hear about your bout. Glad you came through.
  2. You are on point today. We are 5 weeks behind China and 2-3 weeks behind Italy. North America will become something between China and Italy. These moves will hopefully flatten that curve enough not to severely overburden hospitals. It would be horrible for them to have to choose which elderly/sick member of the heard has to die because their aren't enough services to go around.
  3. I find it fascinating if nothing else. No matter what it is, if you have enough people involved, you’ll inevitably have the gamut of opinions. From abortion to COVID-19, everyone thinks their opinion is right and most can’t even fathom how someone else could think differently then them. My opinion is for the success of the older and sicker members of the heard, I'd rather be overly cautious. While a majority of us are younger and don't have a compromised immune system, we can become unbeknownst carriers. Then we go visit our elderly neighbors or parents. The flu has a vaccine for those that are vulnerable, this doesn't. Let's think of the whole heard, not just our little clan that *probably* won't be effected as severely. Social distancing is really the only thing that works now. If we all practiced it, it could potentially be over much faster.
  4. If this game happens, I'm nervous of it. They are definitely coming down from the high. They played average the last two games, stealing the Sabres game. Any type of big loss (>=3 goals) and I can hear the thuds of people jumping off the bandwagon already.
  5. Why wouldn't the medical staff do imaging on that right away? Just seems like that would be first thing I would do.
  6. Both teams played sloppy. Choppy game all around. Could have went either way. Flyers definitely weren't playing on all cylinders. Gonna be tough to get back going on Thursday. Might have to wait for the weekend.
  7. Ivan lifts that puck, it's 1-1. Come on boys. Dog deep
  8. Looking good so far. Now it's sticking to game plan.
  9. Can't win every game. Having these two back to back while on a 9 game win streak. I expect tonight's game to be close and hopefully Hart can keep the B's top line from scoring more than one. After tonight's game, going down to Tampa, I'm not expecting much.
  10. Hoping that is just a little more motivation for them tonight. Win and they have first. Should be a great game. Win tonight and I don't care what happens on Thursday (I expect it to be pretty ugly)
  11. Royals were in Maine Friday night. Pascal Laberge was the only one that stood out to me. He was much faster and had better control of the puck then any of the other guys. Unfortunately McCollum was in net instead of Sandstrom or Ustimenko.
  12. They were just talking about it on BSH radio not to long ago. Their statistical model weighs heavy on the previous x games so the better you are doing the better your odds. With the 8 game win streak.... However, I think we should ignore that and blindly agree because.... Flyers! This is fun for the first time in a long time! If you are interested, I think this is more of a sound analytics model to follow: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL.html
  13. If you squinted, Farabee = JVR last night. 3 shots on goal, noticed him from time to time in the offensive zone. Didn't make any glaring mistakes in the d-zone. Perfect swap. On a different note, look how even the TOI was for the whole team last night. https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/car-vs-phi/2020/03/05/2019021037#game=2019021037,game_state=final,game_tab=stats Obviously the tail end of a back to back but also when a team is firing on all cylinders, it doesn't matter who you put out there.
  14. On this day, March 6th 2020 the Flyers are tied for first place in the division with 16 games to go in the season. The last time that happened was (I'll edit this post when I figure it out).
  15. I'd really not like to see an "eggs" laid. If they keep playing their game but are just a little off, tired or bad bounces, that's fine. Ideally though, Hart steals this team a win tonight and the team repays him on Saturday. (Although I could see Elliot getting Saturday's game and Hart the 2 next week). Hart needs to get used to playing every other night because in just a 5 weeks, it's going to start happening consistently. 2 more wins puts them at home on Tuesday (2 days rest) against the Bruins. Then Thursday against the Lightning away. That's where we'll see 1 or even 2 loses. After that this team goes 2/3 wins 1 loss the rest of the way.
  16. While I think JVR brings big empty net and finishing goals like a 5th goal in a 5-1 victory, he has been providing more than Farabee has in the past couple months. JVR has played 17 more games and has 20 more points. Maybe this break will light a fire under Joel and we'll see a rejuvenated player.
  17. Two years ago if you thought the Flyers were heading towards the playoff on a good winning streak, you would have sworn Ghost, Patrick and Lindblom were involved in some way. This team is good and will only be better next year. Happy times. Nice to see Patrick out there taking some bumps. Must be very encouraging for the kid.
  18. I think out of the Caps, Pens and Islanders the Pens would be my 2nd choice. Islanders (Canes) would be nice but Flyers would have to maintain this streak for a while to get them. 13-4. Somewhere in that range. I have them going 10-7. About another 20-23pts At Caps L Canes W Sabres W Bruins L At Lightning L Wild W Oilers L Blues L At Stars W At Preds L Islanders W At Red Wings W At Devils W Pens W At Rangers W Preds L At Sabres W
  19. I'm just excited that they have a legit chance at making the playoffs and maybe even winning a round. It's been a long time. It feels like most years in early March we are saying ----- 'well, if they go 13-3-1 over the next 17 the have a legit chance at making it'. It's just a nice feeling to have - hence the topic.
  20. There are 17 games left and so much can happen between now and then. Looking at the predictions as of this morning (below), if they go .600 -.700 (win 2, lose 1 streak) through the rest of the year I looks like it will be the Pens assuming they can figure out their losing ways. It will be interesting to track this over the next couple weeks to see how it changes. 3/3 - Match-up is: Penguins I highlighted 30% or greater.
  21. Is it too early to be done with him? I'd bring back Bunnaman and let Thompson serve popcorn for awhile
  22. I like that you have high hopes for these guys because so do I. However, unless everyone is wrong about their ceiling they aren't Crosby, Malkin, OV, Barzal.... level that you are describing. I think we had one fall into our laps last draft in we passed on the little guy. A few teams in the past have proved that you don't need a huge star to win the cup.
  23. Two hottest teams in the eastern conference. Will be a good test. Thankfully catching them on the tail-end of a back to back. No reason the Flyers shouldn't jump on them in the first. There isn't an excuse to come out flat (again).
