Other than a select few players, I don't think anyone is safe on this team... that goes for GM, Coach, Asst's, Players, etc. Snider does not take mediocrity well. It's quite clear that this team has some MAJOR holes in it, and we are easily exploited. I'm of the opinion that a pretty severe gutting is due... I have nothing against anyone really, but imo Lavi, Brzy, Briere, and maybe homer should be gone by summer. Lavi's time is up imo, his messages are either not getting through, or he's giving the wrong ones... don't think that's the case though. This is a mediocre team and it doesn't suit his system that well. No, i don't know who the replacement is... but maybe someone else will be canned by june... or maybe we put in a plug until one is available. Homer made some really clever moves... getting timo, hartnell, were awesome early decisions... stealing grossman, voracek, simmonds, etc. were also very strong moves. Unfortunately, our cupboards ARE SUPER FREAKING BARE and we are icing 2-3 quality Dmen. He did not prepare this team properly for a good season after the lockout. Yes he tried, but he failed. Bryz... way too inconsistent. He's had a much better year, but bite the bullet and buy him out. Same as lavi... don't know who replaces him, but do it. Briere... time has passed. If you can get assets.. fine, if not... give the ice time to someone else and say goodbye.

The Isles' Grabner does have 8 goals so far (Mar 4th)... I'd consider that decent output for a guy making 3mil. I don't know a ton about him, but you'd think in the right situation, he'd also be a great PK'er with that speed.

Holy crap... how can this sort of thing happen!?? Of course we're all human (except for rux) but jesus.... that was like 5 feet offside. Lavi would have **** himself if we'd gotten screwed like this. And of course.... They're going to get fined if they say anything, and the NHL will continue to sweep mistakes under the carpet. That linesman should never ref another NHL game again.

As I said in the Sbox... the guy attracts a lot of this criticism himself. Anyone who's as cocky and showboaty as this guy, is going to attract a lot of attention. Some positive, a lot negative. Tweeting pics of yourself with large stacks of money and shaving 'cash money millionaire' into your hair is not going to bring you close to a blue collar/working class city like Winnipeg. I'm sure some of the criticism is racially motivated... there's a lot of idiots out there. But I'm fairly confident that his behaviour has not helped himself.

A change of attitude is what I see. He's not playing such a soft/periphery game. He's banging and crashing and finally using his size to his advantage.

Voracek is... well... what he is. He's an inconsistent skilled forward. Not as frustrating as a Zherdev or anything though. I think as he matures, he'll get slightly more consistent, but I doubt he ever blossoms to be a first line player. Schenn... well, he's still finding himself. I think he does much better when he's got a very defined role. Same with Luke. Brayden's been bounced around a lot b/c of injuries etc., but I think as the 3rd line center, he'll have a good season.

I think they're both ******* but Staubitz's is far worse. What kind of grown man does that?? I hope he gets his face re-arranged... but yes, a game or two off is deserved for that crap.

Not sure how I feel about the obligatory fight after a hit... but if Mayers was Couts or Roo... I'd be proud of Grossman I guess if the teams were switched. The other thing I notice is that the game was tied... after Keith stands up for Mayers?.... Chi scores the next 2 goals for the win. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. Maybe Desjardins pulled a carcillo :-)

What a plug... at least have the balls to admit you screwed up. To completely deny it, even in the face of video evidence is just absurd. I'd say that I lost some respect for that player/team, but I didn't really have any to lose.

Sounds like Simmonds is a member of the Flyers' medical staff... "whiplash" seems to get thrown around on this team but I never hear it for other teams' players. I guess he couldn't do any worse than our current staff. Also, I guess he'd know better, but it really looks like he cranked his head off the ice. EDIT: uhh... yeah.... he does in fact smack his head off the ice. The fact that he doesn't remember might not be a good thing :-)

Kaleta turned when he knew he was coming... I'm sure Brown could have 'let up' but this is not suspendable. Kaleta made this a lot worse than it had to be. Plus... it's patrick kaleta. If anything, brown should be given a raise!

He does stink, and shouldn't be in the NHL anymore, but he wouldn't have been able to 'lose' us the cup if he hadn't have gotten us their either.

Just example #5843902 why drafting is such a sketchy process. At least you rarely find people like alfreddson going in the 7th round anymore. I think teams on the whole do a very good job considering all the intangibles. You can complain about subban... but look at all the people drafted ahead of Claude "what's his name". Wow... some teams really botched the 2006 draft. Jiri Tlusty, Derek Brassard, James Sheppard?? Riku Helenius????? Mark Mitera?? David Fischer? All drafted ahead of Giroux... I've watched both so far, and imo they have the same problem as last year. They are getting horrible starts and having to chase the game AND they are unable to get all of the aspects of the game going at one time. They can't get their offense/defense/special teams/goalie having good games all at once. Bryz has been good, but their special teams have been HORRRRRIBLE. They've scored a few goals but then had huge defensive breakdowns. Sure you can blame the lockout, but why weren't the other 2 teams showing the same issues. This is not a new problem.

Schenn really seems to get caught 'flat-footed' a lot and is forced to take penalties. I'm sure having better foot speed would help out, but I think a lot of it is mental as well. Even Hatcher didn't get caught out of position so much.... ;-p

Bob Mackenzie feels it's b/c the Leafs ownership was transferred to a new group and they were looking for a more PC/Fan friendly face for the franchise.

Carcillo is a knuckle-dragging moron. He's so stupid he doesn't even realize how lucky he is to be in the NHL.
