  1. Hockeyforums.net A hockey haven that his been Kuato free since 2011.....
  2. @Polaris922 "Worst game I've attended this season." Now I see why you are so bitter.
  3. @Polaris922 Maybe I am just used to watching the poor play of the Flyers, but I thought the Pens played great last night. Emery played well above his pay grade so that certainly did not help the Pens. Also, Neal missing an open net several times was of no help either. Berube played an excellent chess match. He got his lines on the ice to combat the Pens nicely. He had the VLC line out there almost all night on the Malkin line and the Couturier line out there a lot against the Crosby line. I am not too sure why Bylsma did not double shift Malkin in order to give the Flyers a new look, but that is his call. All in all, I think the Penguins out hustled the Flyers, but in the end the Flyers got the lucky bounce on their lone power play. It is nice to see competitive play within the division. Hell they all can't be the 2008 Islanders. Good game, I was happy with the outcome
  4. This guy on the back end seems to be the biggest momentum killer: Outside of that, they (Ott) tried to split Striet and he read that on three separate occasions by my account. Grossman is slow, but has been effective, Timonen is not worth 60k let alone 6mm. Outside of that, the team in general looks to be more committed to defense and they look like they actually may be playing a system. Tonight will be a test in my opinion. The biggest test of the season.
  5. In recent years the Flyers-Penguins rivalry has become a favorite of mine. This dating back to I would say 2007-8 time frame with the two teams battling in the playoffs. Also, I have in-laws on the other side of the state (PA) and it is great to have back and forth banter with them regarding our respected clubs. After that, I would have to say Buffalo v Tronno.
  6. Not really a favorite, but it must be put up for the WTF factor: "Roger got cancer. That wasn't our fault. We didn't tell him to go get cancer. It's too bad that he did. We feel sorry for him, but then he went goofy on us."
  7. Ottawa, Pittsburgh and Winnipeg all on the road in the span of three days. I can see the following results: 1-2 and take two points. However, the optimist in me can see maybe 1-1-1 and getting three points.
  8. @pensuck It very well could, but I think they were scouting the back end. Eberle is going to cost them a ton and I just don't see it. Maybe a deal involving B. Schenn, Meszaros might get the phone lines open, but I suspect they want Couturier and some help on D. I wish they could send Scott Hartnell packing, but at this point that is impossible.
  9. @pilldoc "I could drug him into waiving his NMC/NTC clause." Whatever you give him can I have some before I watch tomorrow's game
  10. @murraycraven @canoli I honestly have a gut feeling that if Giroux continues to struggle they will package him another player and look to get a monster return. Again, I do not want that one bit at all as I do not think Giroux's struggles are indicative of his talent level. I hate seeing stupid Hartnell on his wing turning over the puck every chance he gets too. I saw the look of frustration a few times on Giroux's face when Hartnell made a stupid move. It was easier when Jagr could contain the puck and all Hartnell had to do was plop his butt in front of the net. Anyhow, I do digress, Giroux is a goner. The contract says it all.
  11. @Samifan "One can only wonder what this discussion was all about? Think Ed was telling him he was taking the C off his sweater to relieve some of the pressure G is under?" That could be a good start. He could be telling him that he saved a bunch of money on his car insurance by switching to GEICO. It is however touching that the "best player in the world" is counseling the most delusional owner in all sports. Hate to say it and I do not agree with it at all, but mark my words Giroux will be moved before the contract extension kicks in. Which in my mind stinks and it just goes to show the state of this organization.
  12. "Before he left the building, Giroux and the Flyers held a 15-minute players-only meeting. After the meeting, Giroux was in an animated discussion outside the locker room with Ed Snider, the team's chairman and the guy who signed off on his eight-year, $66.2 million extension." 13. What's he going to say? We need to turn this around, play a team game, flip a switch? Seriously, what is he going to say that is candid and honest to the media that will settle the fans? We all know Fast Eddie will not allow him to speak candidly because that doesn't sit well with the delusional old turd. At this point, cheer for them to loose and hopefully for once finish first at something and win that damn lottery draft.
  14. This team makes me constipated....... FIRE SALE time!!!! #claudethefraud #holmgrenmustgo
  15. @TimKerrFan12 I heard that too (the scouting). Let's hope they were checking out Scott Hartnell.....
  16. Nope. The second coming of Zherdev can go over the K after this season.
  17. @habsguy26 Wow that is steep, but I can certainly see the logic in your trade suggestion. I would pull the trigger if Morin was taken out of the mix. Read is versatile, but nothing too special. Same with McGinn. Laughton looks to have a ton of upside and was a 1st rounder. I would swap Manning of Alt in there and probably agree with the rest.
  18. @doom88 The difference that I see is Coates is a moron. A nice one albeit, but still a moron. Clement on the other hand is not an idiot. In fact, I enjoyed his play-by-play announcing back at the ESPN and VS days. Now, he is just a tow the line type of guy and that is a sad thing for somebody who was once a decent broadcaster. But in the end I agree. Coates never belonged in the booth as he would go on tangents for minutes at a time while the puck was in play.
  19. @radoran Bill Clement is beyond annoying. When he first started calling games for the Flyers it was a refreshing change over Coates, Dorny, Jackson trio. Now I (gasp, dare I say) would rather have drunk Coates back in the booth. Bill Clement has become the biggest spin doctoring mouth piece for the Flyers organization. I respect that they employ him and he needs to be careful with his criticism, but some of the verbal doo doo that comes out of his mouth is infuriating.
  20. "crap, I forgot to put my cloths in the dryer before we left for the road trip. Great now my Gap Kids polo is going to smell moldy!" #claudethefraud
  21. This is for Claude the Fraud http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFvIdTbaMhA
  22. Paul Holmgren is far worse than Clarke ever could have been. He made a few decent moves in his first year as GM, but since has gone bat $hit crazy with some of these moves/contacts. If anything, they need to stop the bleeding and cut him loose. Order of c'ya priorities: 1) Paul Holmgren: no lateral move within the organization, but a flat out later dude. 2) Kimmo Timonen: he is done. Flat out cannot play anymore. Someone may take the contract if they are in need of a defender with a ton of experience. Than again, he'll have to agree to any move. At this point I think he may go anywhere but here. 3) Scott Hartnell: he just doesn't fit the make up of this team. He is decent if placed with the right pieces, but Giroux and VLC are not the right linemates period. 4) Simmonds: before anyone gripes about toughness. He is not tough. He refuses to forecheck or play to corners anymore. Not the 2011-12 guy that we traded for. 5) One or both Schenns: over hyped under utilized. 6) Grossman: the man is a pylon. He gets beat basically on every shift and posses a very low hockey IQ. That's where I would start.
  23. @albertaflyer @brelic Never thought of that. They do have a ton of space and have a lot of young guys on that squad. I can see it, but do you think that the Flyers would have to take salary back? Maybe a depth D man and a 2nd would get it done. Time will tell.
