  1. I wonder who knew and how long. I wonder if, as a result, they tried and couldn't.
  2. I heard he wears Polo. Dead give away.
  3. It does make a difference because there's at least plausible light between the two. Time will tell if it's a tangible difference.
  4. Dillon Dube also on leave within minutes. Both involved in the World Juniors thing. I don't think there can be any doubt. I mean, there can be doubt, but that's a really ridiculous coincidence.
  5. Honestly doesn't concern me at all. He's like 70 years old and in deciding. He might add some grit on the bottom 6, but really not concerned at all I'm a fan of an east coast team so maybe that is a factor, but i think if the Rangers or Carolina or Boston or someone has signed him I'd have been, "huh. He's still playing? I wonder what's on Netflix.." I don't think it's that big a deal. It's a name.
  6. Completely true. I swear people have seen his 6 highlight reel plays and want to mortgage things for him. Someone probably will, but it won't be the Flyers because someone will mortgage even more and regret it. I actually doubt he's moved anywhere anytime soon. It's just silly.
  7. I guess this is fun for some, but can we keep it real? Zegras is not in play, and if he is being moved at all it's not for that package. And extremely unlikely it's to the Flyers. I certainly don't want them moving those kind of pieces for him, and it doesn't get it done anyway. Entire threads on Zegras coming to the Flyers and it's entirely EA Sports NHL '95. It's just silliness. And also, I'm not giving up that package for him. I wonder if the Oilers would take Laughton and our first for Draisaitl...
  8. Farabee made a big jump before and was destroyed by a previous coach. It's nice to see him back.
  9. Oh, I'm not arguing to get rid of Frost. I've been a Frost cheerleader. He does seem to be learning the defensive side so moving him to wing could potentially screw some of that up (not trying to overstate that, but responsibilities in the defensive end are different). I'd keep him at C the rest of the season and see how he progresses. If not, I try him at wing before doing something more drastic.
  10. I'd rather Frost played wing. I still don't think he's an NHL center. Certainly not a 2C. If we had an actual 2C, I'd think about 3C, but i don't see a lot of offense coming from him at center.
  11. Well he's pre-menopausal, so Sid is going to get a little more tired and faster due to the withdrawal from sudden surges in estrogen.
  12. In theory (I feel like "in theory" should be boldfaced, 20 pica, italicized, underlined...) When TK hits UFA, we'll have Cam Atkinson off the books if we haven't traded hi yet. Same with Hathaway. Depending how long and how much of a deal we sign Tippett, Poehling (if), and Brink to, we should be able to swing it. Sean Walker, Staal, and Seeler combined don't give us much more runway. I guess the heartburn will be the Hart contract, but he'll be RFA so it's still manageable unless he only extends one year. It's the Couturier contract that will be the albatross by then. 25-26 should be the year we're going for it "in case" some of these necessary signings don't pan out and it sets us ack. York will be an RFA at the same time we're attempting to sign TK, so that could be a thing. Petersen comes off the books, though, so maybe it all pans out. I'm glad I don't have to track/gameplan this crap for my job, though.
  13. I actually agree with this. Your whole post, for that matter. I guess we have to see if they'll even be able to sig Seeler, though I don't think it's a particularly heavy lift. I think there will be a limit on salary and term, so if Seeler thinks there's a better offer out there, maybe he takes it. But I think if the Flyers offer, he's taking.
  14. If we can do it and a manageable term and cost ($2-$2.5M/3 yrs), I'm fine with it provided we can move Risto (+ retain) and Walker at the deadline. If that were to happen we'd have Drysdale, York, Sanheim, and Seeler going into next year. I'm actually okay with Wallker on the same kind of deal, but if we can move him for prospects/picks even better. Plus, we have Andrae and Bonk in the system. I guess Ginning, too, but I'm thinking if he was going to be something, he'd be here by now.
  15. Looks like he's still in his game shape, too.
  16. Was thinking along very similar lines. The only reason he has a job at all is that all of their goalies suck. If they want to see if Daniil or Spencer are #1 goalies, I can save them the trouble: they're not. But they ARE cheaper garbage.

  18. For those that don't feel like reading that whole thing, I'll summarize: "I'm a douchebag."
  19. So, who had "halfway marker and 3 points ahead of Tampa with a game in hand" on their Bingo card?
  20. From all accounts, they did though. And honestly, after the WJC he just had now was the time to get the best deal you're going to get. And again, I'm not even sure what better than a plug & play 1:6 RHD 21 year old dman plus a 2nd looks like. I'm not trying to pile on, just sharing my take on the asking because I thought both the Flyers and the media have raved about how FOs around the league knew and did a great job of keeping the whole thing quiet. I assumed--I guess this is an assumption--that's because he was shopped.
