  1. I'm hoping Hynes does a complete overhaul on every facet of the teams strategy. When will they stop passing up shots from between the face-off circles to pass to an open man by the dots.
  2. After thinking about your question of how to put it to the team I came up with this strategy for the GM. GM to team. Hey guys here's the deal you guys get us into a playoff position by the All Star break. If we're really looking like we're not going to make it, due to injuries or just plain poor play, we're going to experiment with ice time, line combinations, PP strategy, PK strategy. We may lose games that ordinarily we might win, but we're going to take advantage of a bad year for better draft position, without a full blown team tear down. We might only get 1 year of a better draft, but we feel this is worth it in the long run. If you don't like this strategy, make sure you put us in a playoff position.
  3. SSDY Same S#$t different year.
  4. I'm a fan too, but I don't want to watch them sneak into the playoffs and lose, I want them to go into the playoffs like true contenders. I want them to be a dynasty team similar to Pittsburgh, Tampa, Chicago and now Vegas. (But without the cap cheating) And all but Vegas became dynasties by being bad for a while.
  5. I kind of wonder if CL doesn’t just want the money. Not sure how the Parise/Suter buyouts work as far as what they actually pay out. But I'm pretty sure CL doesn't mind NOT paying the $14 million that the buyout cap hit prevents.
  6. The most frustrating part of this is it was clear as a bright sunny day at the all-star break that the Wild would have to play so far over their heads to make the playoffs. They wouldn't have had to tear the team down to the bone to get into a top 5 to 8 pick. The difference between where the Wild are now to the #5 pick is 7 wins! Lose 7 more games between the all star break and now and they get a top 5 pick.
  7. Unfortunately for us I don’t think the Wild could possibly play bad enough to lose to the Sharks. Picking out of the top 10 again.
  8. I know you are entitled to your opinion and I do appreciate your positive attitude, but you really need to take a better look at where the top talent in this league comes from. Most of the top players in this league were top 10 picks. It takes talent to win.
  9. It's too bad the rest of the league doesn't just lay down for St.Louis and just battle to the end against Vegas. I would love nothing better than to see Vegas miss the playoffs this year. I looked at cap friendly for Vegas next year. They have under 2 million left with 10 forwards 7 defenseman and 3 goalies under contract for next year. That leaves moving a goalie so they can sign 2 forwards.
  10. 40,000. Until Spurgeon comes off LTIR, then someone needs to go.
  11. From what I have seen of Marat, I would say we downgraded from Dewar.
  12. So can they delay extending Rossi, Faber and Marat for 1 year and have a little extra for one year? IMO I don’t think the cap hit disappearing from Suter Parise is going to go as far as they think. The young guys coming up and Kaprizov will eat into that money considerably.
  13. Can you imagine how bad it would be if Mackinin was going against Merrill?
  14. That's what a number 1 overall pick gets you. Hard to get that picking number 14.
  15. With the Wild's cap issues, if Fleury will sign a 1 year deal for the minimum, which he hinted at, the Wild should trade Gus and play Wall and Flower. Take the spare Gus money and get a right handed forward.
  16. Mackinin with only 7 hattys, that's hard to believe !
  17. As I don’t, can you tell why Sammy Walker got such a short tryout this year? He kind of tore it up in preseason and got a 2 game tryout on 2 different lines, probably a total of 14 minutes in 2 games.
  18. Maybe demand is the wrong term, but just as they advised Rossi, they should advise these older guys. Maybe in the future he should start adding it to the older guys contract.
  19. Fleury showing why he is the prank king. Duhaime never had a chance.
  20. All the players 30 years old and above need to be on a more aggressive workout routine. That would be Hartman, Foligno, Gaudreau, Johansson, Spurgeon and Bogosian. After 30 it really gets tough. BG should really start demanding a stronger fitness program for these older guys. This year Johansson really fell apart when his shift time got extended, you could almost predict the goal coming when he got trapped on the ice for a while.
  21. Wild win 4-0! While I don’t mind the win because it's Wallstedt's first with a shutout, I would have liked to improve our chances for a better draft pick. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
