Kap might not need training camp, but the team needs him at training camp. We still don't have a 1C for him. Do we even have a 2C? The camp might show that, let some experimenting to happen.
If he really still plays for the Sabres, it's going to be quite a character test to get himself motivated. We'll see and hope for the best, for hockey's sake.
Lucky you! I'll probably never have the money, time and opportunity, all at the same time, to get a chance of attending these kind of Wild get-togethers.
The Wild would have to be ready to put everything on one card, and a card that has been very difficult to get on a plane to MIN (or even get a GM meeting with). If the bet is made, the Wild would have to be absolutely sure IF he's worth the money AND is ready to stay in Minny OR be tradeable in a way that compensates if the bet fails. I'd rather make bets on Khusnutdinov, Rossi, Boldy, Addison, etc., if the other option is McDavid money paid.
I think it's hilarious, but it might bite Dundon in the ass. Kotkaniemi is not worth that much. Maybe he will be later on, but right now that is a lot of money and picks.
The good news: a deal with a potential franchise player very likely. The bad news: the franchise might not be the Wild after a couple of years. Let's hope for a sensible deal and long-term commitment.
I hear that the way the Stars solved the problem was to build a whole lot of ice rinks in the area in order to build a fan base with actual skating/playing experience.
I do agree there. All we know for sure is that Kap was marvelous in a truncated mini-season, a little bit invisible in the playoffs, and that the season was not played against all of the teams. We just don't know if he could be worth the money he was offered. It's really a gamble giving him all he wants. We might end up losing the room, cap space and Kap himself in the style of Bobrovsky/Panarin.
I hear the Russian style of negotiating is about you winning and the other guy losing, a win-win style of approach being strange for them. The way things are going it certainly looks to go towards somebody losing.
No doubt about the Troll Toll, but just to make it clear, it won't be me. I've said it before, and will say it again: it's a high risk trade Fletcher made by acquiring Ristolainen.
Good deal for the Wild and Fiala, but still I can't help but wonder if Fiala would have had a bit more, or if a deal without arbitration could have been made if Kaprizov would not be such a PITA to negotiate with.
We need more whorebotz and bytchwipes - whatever on earth those are
I remember watching Nummelin being a very efficient PP player for the Finnish National Team. He was quite good in putting a quick seeing eye wrister through the traffic for an easy goal. I never saw his play in the NHL. I guess he was too small and too bad defensively to get the offense going.

A thought - provoking article by Tony Abbott. Would we be better off trading Kap, getting the picks and prospects for him, develop the youngsters over the cap crunch years coming, and be competitive again by 2024 /2025? The thing with Kap is (like Russo stated) dealing with him has always been impossibly difficult. First it takes five years to get him in the NHL and then the dead end we are now at. Do we absolutely need a player this difficult, even if he is as good as Kap is?
