  1. I agree we should give our first round picks some more time, especially now that Fletcher seems to have focused on continuity in our farm and pro systems, having Lappy at least will keep the continuity there(on paper at least). I also believe they should pair players with their continuity in mind when they bring them up because it makes it allot easier when your familiar with the "system" but even more so when you know the "system" and "know" your partner. I believe that's why Morin and Ghost were an easy pair to put together, since they played with each other in the minors. Maybe the coaching staff didn't know this...but I did..... @BCF I also desire the best for you and your day to day; that you've been around for almost half a century and still able to see, hear, taste, smell and move about is a luxury not everyone on this earth get to enjoy. May your days be appreciated and your perspectives be centered and balance. Enjoy.
  2. It's anybody's call and who knows what Ron Francis is gonna end up doing. Fletcher did ask RF if he wanted to think outside the box when it came to choosing which player they will pick or be helped to pick if other players are involved in trades to them or other teams. Fletcher gave some advance options that he would be willing to listen to for the mutual benefit of both teams. That was some high level out of the box thinking on Fletchers part and is encouraging to hear. Unfortunately this might include a first round pick for the rights to keep a player the Flyers could trade for if Seattle picks up another unprotected player so they don't get the Flyers traded for player.
  3. I'm with Occam on this but I'm also with Rux as well. Frost needs to prove and put his time in, but he has to be given line mates that can facilitate him at his position. Maybe start him at Wing and put him as a Center in game situations, he already took several shifts and scored points, so I think he is aware of the game speed and will see just like Farabee that certain plays won't work in the NHL so easily. Though deep down inside, I don't think Frost will be our player on this team, I think he won't play for our franchise for long. Like Patrick they might not be in this organization in the next several years. I would like to have them both here, but I think in time they will be moved/traded.
  4. Fletcher needs to take advantage of this market and give the impression he's busy wheeling and dealing phone offers/return calls on players. Teams are gonna loose players, you need to cash in on some of those guys to use as pieces for other deals. Aquire players as assets to move to other teams to get your guys. Find out what the other guys wants are to use in your trades and if anything grab some picks for this draft that are gonna have late round steals since the draft year got turned upside down with the lost players evaluation scouting. Easier said then done but that's where you put in the work.
  5. Yes I would pull the trigger then but I would of been talking and setting this up sooner so that both teams can get more semblance of direction with the big to do lists/pressures and uncertainties this expansion/ flat cap is bringing. It would give the team the feeling of control in their uncertain off season. Checking off boxes that need to be addressed.
  6. This is key and remembering how long it took players to recover to be close to 100% it was about midway through the season(after summer surgery) when there was no lingering pains and scar tissue ailments. So I'm guessing around end of December/year to see where he's at. How about a Jake for Johnny trade with Calgary.
  7. I should have put quotes on the statement "This is a business...." I'm not in agreement with that business philosophy of the big companies but yes they where instrumental in adding cap hell to this league as a reality for teams. Maybe it should be reconsidered to raise the limit a team can go over if signing their own drafted players by 20 percent so that every team can trade/sign new players up to so much in cap space but have a luxury amount in cap to sign and keep their own drafted talent.
  8. NP. I'll man up when I see I've misspoke. Another problem is the GM not throwing the offersheet around. I'm not 100 percent in favor of that tactic, but they put that in place to use and no one wants to use it. The cap should be based on team revenue maybe so everyone has a cao in place. There for it meets the criteria of having a cap in place. This is a business. This is sports. Let's put a cap on Amazon, Tim Hortons and Walmart because they are taking too much of the market from Wawas... doesn't make sense.
  9. One thing about Hexy was that he was soo focused on building the team that he bypassed players that weren't "ready" to be picked in his mind until the table was set, with homegrown talent. Two years away from being two years away. That was such a tough time to be a Flyers fan, because you understood the reasoning, to not swing hard yet, because the "opening" wasn't there yet. The Oreilly trade I can see as what was the reasoning bypassing him on a trade, was there some talk on the phone that went south. I know Hextall was very shrewd and always wanted the upper hand on trades. Maybe he didn't want to give away picks, since he valued them very highly? Now we have Fletcher and I think he will make a trade like that. Just concerned how much cap is going to be lost on the players he acquires.
  10. One thing when Fletcher came on board, he had a nice stack of everything. Prospects, picks and talent. He has been up and down. I wonder if they weren't looking to bring Caufield in since we supposedly had a stacked line with Pitlick in there as well and saw the need to get a defensemen. But BPA was maybe skewed to Best Player for us in the cupboard. Imagine if that pick was done when Ghost was on the board. Seeing Ghost results his rookie year would of had everyone singing the praise of Fletcher for drafting such a wonderful defender that scored goals in bunches and dances around forwards. One year is great, but lets look at this in year 3, so we can hindsight this pick as, "you should of picked this guy when he was available." because it won't be hindsight then, it would be/been the Best Player Available!....and you screwed up Fletcher and scouts. I also liked Suzuki and we didn't get him either.
  11. Who the hell is dissing franchises? Reading comprehension much? When did I diss anything? Get your head out your ass and read more clearly. I said that the winning team cannot keep it going because of stupid cap rules so everyone can have a participation trophy. I don't give a rats ass that Flyers won 2 Cups in 10 ions. All those teams I stated had to gut their team due to stupid arbitrary rules that don't let Teams keep their hard earned work through drafting or player acquisitions. Tampa played the NHL with their cap circumvention....GOOD FOR THEM. And I applaud them for figuring out a way to do it. Flyers use to be in that boat almost every year and would work it out. "Imagine naming yourself after a short-lived Flyers line that never accomplished anything..." Who the hell are you the internet Karen imagining things for other people? If I wanted to name myself "The Legion of Barney the Telletuby Slayer" who the hell are you numnuts, another keyboard warrior getting his panties in a bunch, over a comment. Relax Rita.... don't spill your drink over dumb things. All I stated were facts. All those teams had to loose after they won and that is stupid in the way the NHL is run. Everyone should keep on fielding the best they have and not have to have one hand tied behind their backs because they keep knocking out fools who challenge them.
  12. With the Cap circumventions and players gonna be owed....Tampa is gonna blow up soon. This will probably be their last year and will fizzle away, just like Chicago, just like L.A. and look at Detroit now....Pittsburgh...is that you out there.....?
  13. The team collapsed like the Flyers. The coach collapsed like the Flyers. They just let it ride to see what happens, like the Flyers. Not one person is at fault. Many moving parts screwed up.
  14. Go for Hamilton. If we must give away the Ghost. I would keep the Ghost, Put him in line with Morin and sign Hamilton. Seth Jones is leaving Columbus, we can inquire but not give up player assets for him, maybe our 1st pick with picks but not our players, unless: Jake, JVR or retain some amount of their salaries when they get moved. That article of Jones defends like Andrew.McD. is a scary anomaly. Even though it's not the full picture, there is some factual facts that fact it all up.
  15. JVR+Jake for Jones. Flip Jones to Nashville for 1st round pick. Fire Fletcher and hire Chelios for GM. Chelios points sights at Hextall and claims his next waiver.
  16. It took you that long to jump on that bandwagon..... Throw away your sandwich, it's old too, momma made you a new one in the lunch cooler just in case the first one got old.
  17. Ya this is how I see it when Briere got bought out even after he did allot for the organization, after hours wise. #Business
  18. I should of been more clear in regards to his contract which was his first one not his second signing and I agree I wouldn't pay him more just on potential like we did with Jake. It be great to keep him but as previously said if he was packaged with another piece to get high end talent back, that would be the way to go. Package him and Frost together and see what that would unfold. I hear McDavid is now a remote possibility to be moved for the right fleece.
  19. I don't want to be to critical with the comments, comments. But I want to give a little inside info on Patrick as a person. He does care about playing hockey. He doesn't care for the PA side of the business. Just like Pronger he can punk the media for being stupid and malicious/petty. He won't be goated to respond to stupid hearsay by little twatter media. Maybe with his buddies is a different story. I'm not in full agreement but respect it. So don't expect him to come out and defend/refute a stupid non quote. Another fact: his last contract he got screwed over, take home paywise. That bs incentive laden contract got his previous agent fired. He wants more money than the underpaid contract of a former #1-2 player. We did get the first overall pick in Patrick as a second pick. He was going to be first overall unanimously but got hurt during draft year just like Coots was gifted to us as well. Again if your expecting a rebuttal from Patty, it aint happenin. He don't play dat. Homie aint gonna waste his time on simps. This start over in a new country with a new ID and social security card and new set of college friends never go well in scary movies and hockey towns. The Covid Chainsaw Season Fear Massacre end credits are rolling on the screen now. We will evaluate on our youth next season. Valid points on organization and culture. See the thing is Hextall was laying the foundation with building through draft and acquiring Cap Space, seasoning youth till they "earned" time to come up to the Biggs. In a perfect world Patrick should of seasoned in the AHL but antiquated poaching all our players from the OHL/Q/CHL foolery rules screwed us. Hextall seemed to be draining the swamp and upper org got butthurt. He was changing the "culture" for players and they didn't "like" it, this was "family" and the "Family Rules here mentality" Though Hackstoll was something that didn't work out. He was brought in to develop our youth like he did in College. Play hard 200ft and give a mutha sucka about playing for your Team. #KEEPPATRICK
  20. Some of these posts can really piss off, I mean Stupid Azz Serivalli(with all due respect Frank) the same dipshit that said he knew a friend of a friend that said that Hayes only came here reluctantly because he wanted to get paid(common locker room talk no biggy) and made it into a Philyy Phiasco. And to see this regurgitated now, "Because Effin Patrick wants a raise!?" I would want a dam raise as well from my last azz backwards deal I got, where I lost money on that terrible deal, and I would GTFO FIRE the previous agent that screwed me into putting a high incentive deal, with high risk, then a steady income deal, with some higher leverage to get paid. Patrick did right to get rid of the bum. Patrick did right(if he stated) to state as a fact he played all his full season, to squash the stupid TwatterVerse, from the dumbazz comments, who just the thought of twatter is a joke, Got Bots?(Got Milk ads) to even give that trash app any levity. Robot001@twatter says, GTFO to (insert sucker) Seriously, don't fall for stupid hearsay articles about Patrick, yes he at times looks like FU to the public, but that's his personality, he's cool to his true friends and family. And doesn't put stock too much in others. He can be a smart ass at times to the media, and should be a little more respectful then say, I ate two sandwiches today and was able to score more. And no don't put him up to be exposed to KrackAgain, If he can be included in a major defensive player trade(#1 Dman) I can see pulling that trigger. Maybe trading him for Johnny Hockey to not loose a stupid amount if we acquire him, to play maybe with Hollywood Haysee would be interesting. 1. Patrick got low balled on his previous incentive high deal, that was too risky for him, I can see why he got rid of that agent. 2. If that statement IS TRUE about playing a Full season, than I would state that too, for consideration of a more fair raise to my employer when the time came when your interviewing for an increase in pay.(That was an initial major concern is that he couldn't stay healthy for a year and was made of glass[untrue:]) 3, This year has too many curveballs in it to put much stock on many things. Some people can handle adversity like a champ, others fall and get hurt and learn from it and try to be better prepared, allot of our youth are still kids mentally, just because they have a paycheck doesn't change the fact that they're mentally not mature yet and can't properly handle our upside down society with all the depression hitting, social access loneliness, these youth are in, (CIP: Hart) Patrick knows he doesn't have much leverage, and would do him well to buckle up, put in the summer work, get stronger and more explosive and build up his stamina. He should be getting a NHL/NHLPA agreed upon pay raise per year. I doubt he'll be asking for 3M a year. but a modest 1.5 or so per year on a 2yr contract maybe? I'm not his biggest fan by any means, but I'll defend him when pile on Shat starts going his way, undeservedly. I liked the pick from the start, and saw him as the better fit of the two when we drafted him. Here's hoping he does break out next year.
  21. Say what you want to say but when one of: Rinaldo Carbomb R. White ....was on the team we weren't being rag dolled. Morin is nice but we need a forward, like Simmonds. We need a Tocchet. This isn't a request. This is a fact. I miss Shjon Podein, even Petr Svoboda.
  22. Giroux - Couturier - Allison Laughton - Hayes - Farabee Lindblom - Patrick - Konecny Frost - Laczynski - Aube-Kubel Provorov - Hamilton Sanheim - Myers Morin - Gostisbehere Braun Hart Halák
