So, the Kings, who lacked goaltending give up on their #1 goalie prospect, and throw in a 28 yr old bottom pair dman. Flyers give away their top pairing dman. This is a deja vu Flyer trade. How is this the new Flyers? Looks a lot like the last 13 years Flyers. IF this is the start of the BITFU I am okay with it. Somehow I don't think it is. Provorov should have been worth much much more than a prospect and a has been. Has Danny B already drank the kool aid?

Surely Danny B learned at the Wharton school you can't rebuild and try to sneak in the playoffs at the same time.. Hextall and the chucktard proved it, amongst others. Getting younger, bigger, faster won't win right away, but it will be better to watch than the past dozen years.

Only difference is the Kraken picked players in their late 20's with years of NHL experience. Tough to build from the draft picking unproven 18 year olds. However, I do believe you have to set a standard for what you look for in a player. Vegas built their original roster with criteria. Fast, with high hockey IQ. The Kraken copied that, along with BIG dmen. Lets hope Danny B has a plan and the leeway to stick with it.

No arguments about TDA with anyone in this group. No arguments that chuckles was the worst sign in the history of hockey. Perhaps I am not being clear enough, but the coach seems more interested in winning his personality battles with signed players than doing whats best for the franchise going forward. It is quite ironic, to me anyway, that the coach should have been the GM hire 5 years ago, rather than a headstrong coach who thinks he can fix whats broken in Flyerland by benching horrible acquisitions, when he should have been putting them in position to succeed in order to give them some, however small, value at the trade deadline. Winning games against non playoff teams in February was counter productive to the future of the Flyers. The current nucleus that showed some promise is still a mediocre group at best, including the coach. It needs to be torn down to the bones. Anyone who thinks otherwise is, IMHO dreaming in Holmgren technicolor. We all want the same thing here, we do have different opinions on how best to get there, but they are just that, opinions, not hard facts. If we were all the geniuses some of us purport to be we would all have multiple cup rings and banners hanging from our rafters.

Chuckles gave up 3 picks for TDA. Torts in his infinite wisdom completely devalued the player and made him worthless as an asset. I hope Briere fires him sooner than later. He's a human turd. Perhaps Bettman will hire him.

I respectfully disagree. The Giroux move was 2 or 3 years too late. The return could have been much greater. Its called basic asset management.

IF it is a Briere rebuild, then you listen to offers on every single player and draft pick in the organization. The better the asset, the better the return. Cleaning up the chucktards mess is just that, cleaning up. It is not rebuilding.

All of the teams drafting before the Flyers this year will win a playoff game before our beloved Flyers. Briere's rebuild will take 3 years minimum and probably longer if they choose a gentle removal of the dead wood versus a BITFU. In 3 years Couturier will have 4 years left, Sanheim will have 5 years left, Atkinson and Ellis will still be on LTIR . We have all joked about the chucktard but he did significant damage to the franchise, and it will take Briere some time to fix it. And when you add in the asset depreciation that the idiot coach did this year you can probably add another year or 2 to the process. I would never defend Hayes or TDA, they are slugs, but Torts should have been bulking up their trade value, not depreciating it. Lots of players have won in sports all the while despising the coach. It isn't Torts' franchise he is a guest, hopefully for not much longer. They need to draft top 3 for a year or 3, not 7th, that is the only way out of the mess Homer and the chuckster created.

They should start next season with Hayes and Deangelo as co captains and play them both 30 minutes a night. You have to attempt to get some value into their games. Right now there is virtually none as a trade asset. The next 2 years are tear down years if Briere is serious about rebuilding. The cap is a mess and the draft capital is not good, so why not take a chance at increasing their worth as trade chips. Hopefully some desperate GM would take a chance on them at the deadline next year.

Every time there is a generational player in the draft teams tank. You can call it whatever you want. It doesn't mean the players on the ice are not trying(Kevin Hayes) but hockey ops have bottomed out their lineups countless times.

If the chucktard gets a job somewhere we can trade Ellis and Atkinson to him for a bag of pucks.
