Howie58 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 (edited) Greetings: Vegas is favored (-150). The Knights have a great record against the Eastern Conference and our lack of scoring is on the bookies' minds, not just Tortorella's: https://winnersandwhiners.com/games/nhl/12-9-2022/philadelphia-flyers-vs-vegas-golden-knights-prediction-4685/ Other than penalty kill, they are much better on paper. Take a gander at faceoff percentage difference: https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/phi-vs-vgk/2022/12/09/2022020432 Well, maybe this is a good bonding experience. Edited December 9, 2022 by Howie58 Quote
flyerrod Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Maybe Jonesy can come out of retirement to at least teach them how to get under the skin of your opponents. He was one of the best crap stirrers in the game in his time. It would certainly increase the entertainment of the games. Quote

Konecny spent about 20 minutes on the ice with him after everyone else left it. That was probably one of the bright spots this year for the Flyers. Quote

I love to see players spend time with the kids might not last forever with the players but the kids remember it forever. 3 Quote
Howie58 Posted December 9, 2022 Author Posted December 9, 2022 I was almost expecting the usual "trade him now while his value is highest." 1 1 Quote

Howie58 Posted December 10, 2022 Author Posted December 10, 2022 Watching is tough. We are putting in a good effort. But there aren't any payoffs 1 Quote
Howie58 Posted December 10, 2022 Author Posted December 10, 2022 That's a disappointing loss. 0-5 for the season in OT. Hard work. Hart kept it close. We were below our 2 goals average. Tough to win scoring 2. Cut that in half and it's tougher. Quote
GrittyForever Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 That was a good game though. Hart was outstanding. 2 Quote
GratefulFlyers Posted December 10, 2022 Posted December 10, 2022 i agree it was a good game by the Flyers. A good road game, kept things simple, defended as a team, good to see Cam York back in action...but the missed chances, prime opportunities to bury another goal and instead: nothing. The 1 goal they did score was a gift, a real WTF play by Hill their goalie. OT was ridiculous. For 3+ minutes Vegas never touched the puck. One mistake = breakaway = game over. 7 hours ago, GrittyForever said: Hart was outstanding. Eh I don't think that was his A game. But whether is was A or B he sure could've used some goal support. Instead - one in 65 minutes. That's asking too much night after night. Quote
Howie58 Posted December 10, 2022 Author Posted December 10, 2022 We are making opposing goalies look like Plant and Parent in their primes. Hill's GAA is like Sandstrom's. Sad. Quote
