1st Place-Could It Happen?

Looking at the schedule, this is the Flyers next 7 games: 5 of 6 are at home: Florida, Washington, Montreal, Tampa and Ottawa

Only road game is Toronto.

Their last four are at Pitt, home vs NYR, home vs Sabres, and at Pitt.

They are 3 points behind the Rangers and 2 points behind the Pens.

Does this team have a realistic chance to get the 1st seed?

Granted..I was the guy that 2 months ago was worried they would miss the playoffs!

They need to get 6 points vs. the Rags and Pens to have a shot. I don't have time to look at the Pens and Rangers' schedules, But with both ahead of the Flyers in the standings and the Pens having a game in hand, strength of schedule is going to be important. Looking at the schedule, I'd say the Flyers have a good chance to go 7-3 or 8-2.

@AJgoal-

I think 7-3 is more realistic than 8-2. So, lets say that is a reality. That gives us 106 points.

- The Rangers would have to go 4-5-2 (or worse- but that would give them 105) in order for us to get #1.

-Then or course there is pittsburgh, they would have to go 4-4-3 (or worse- but that would also give them 105 points).

So, the question really comes down to: do we think that both pittsburgh AND rangers will go .500 / sub.500 for the remainder of the season? My answer is no to Pittsburgh and possible with the Rangers.

Getting guys back soon ie. Mezz and Kubina would be real nice and would certainaly aid in the quest!!!!!!!!! :D

As Lincoln told two of his consultants durng the Civil War after they said we should attack England. "one war at a time Gentlemen one war at a time." So I say unto thee,"one game a time gentlemen one game at a time.?" Then one game at a time one game at a time. One shift at a time one shift at a time.

Lace them on one a time and skate your butt off and get it done.

@DaGreatGazoo

Or the Rangers. It is plausible that Pitts could catch the Rangers.

Nah, we'll play the Penguins, since I know about 5,000 of them, and it will be a non-stop **** storm from them for 2 weeks. Rangers..I know NO one that's a fan..so there is no way we play them.

Flawed logic, perhaps?

Somehow, that seems perfectly logical to me....of course I also think that I'm the reason the flyers lose to the devils in North Jersey every time I go up there, so take that for what it's worth....

Well, I am so superstitious, I stopped going to Flyers games this year. They lost the last 5 games I went to, over the previous 2 seasons.

The Flyers in April:<table summary="Previous Games"> <tbody> <tr class="odd"> <td class="title date" scope="row"> Sun, Apr 1</td> <td class="title"> @ Pittsburgh</td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr class="even"> <td class="title date" scope="row"> Tue, Apr 3</td> <td class="title"> vs NY Rangers</td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr class="odd"> <td class="title date" scope="row"> Thu, Apr 5</td> <td class="title"> vs Buffalo</td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td> </td> </tr> <tr class="even"> <td class="title date" scope="row"> Sat, Apr 7</td> <td class="title"> @ Pittsburgh</td> <td> </td> </tr> </tbody></table>

Yep, I think that'll have a BIG say in how things shake out.
