DaGreatGazoo Posted March 19, 2012 Share Posted March 19, 2012 Looking at the schedule, this is the Flyers next 7 games: 5 of 6 are at home: Florida, Washington, Montreal, Tampa and OttawaOnly road game is Toronto.Their last four are at Pitt, home vs NYR, home vs Sabres, and at Pitt.They are 3 points behind the Rangers and 2 points behind the Pens.Does this team have a realistic chance to get the 1st seed?Granted..I was the guy that 2 months ago was worried they would miss the playoffs! I don't have time to look at the Pens and Rangers' schedules, But with both ahead of the Flyers in the standings and the Pens having a game in hand, strength of schedule is going to be important. That gives us 106 points. - The Rangers would have to go 4-5-2 (or worse- but that would give them 105) in order for us to get #1. -Then or course there is pittsburgh, they would have to go 4-4-3 (or worse- but that would also give them 105 points). So, the question really comes down to: do we think that both pittsburgh AND rangers will go .500 / sub.500 for the remainder of the season?
