Mario99 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Mezsaros is always hurt, likewise Grossman, Coburn is underachiever and turnover machine and being 6-5 230 lbs is a WIMPCarle is a 4 defenseman on a good team Quote
flyercanuck Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 craven, im talking about someone in Mark Howe's class, obviously those guys you mentioned STINK Most of those guys YOU mentioned aren't in Mark Howes class. Quote
aziz Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Wait a sec, Carle, Coburn, timonen, meszaros don't count, but ossi vaananan does? Adam Burt?? Quote
King Knut Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Is Streit in Mark howe's class? How many defenseman are there to trade for in mark howe's class? When you have one, you don't trade him to anyone, why would the flyers be any different. Also, the way the RFA system works it's very hard to get a d man on that level who isn't under a big long term contract, so trade really is the only way to get him until he is past prime Quote
magnumpi Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 there's about a handful of dmen that have been traded over the past 30 yrs who were in Howe's class Quote

RonJeremy Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 We have been trading for defense for 30 years...we seem to have alot of inuries on defense, and we never draft enough good defenseman... or we draft some decent ones and trade them too quickly Quote

murraycraven Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Well then... Some on that list are nowhere near Howes class so I am a bit confused Quote
radoran Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Timonen was 32 in 2007. Arguably in his prime. 1 Quote
flyercanuck Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Schenn, Grossmann, Meszaros, Hamhuis, Carle, Coburn, Parent, Gauthier, Markov, Johnson, McGillis, DesJardins, Duschesne and Crossman since Howe. None of them are as good as Howe. A list around the league of defencemen who've been traded and are Howes equivalent since we traded for him would number about 5 1 Quote
