albertaflyer
All I can say is just watch McDavid. This kid is so good. I went and watched him live for the first time last week. He makes guys look stupid with his speed. You tend to forget he's only 19. The Oilers will have trouble with the Flyers forcheck. That's the one area the Flyers can dominate tonight. But they will trouble with McDavid. The Flyers defense will have their work cut out for them every time McDavid is on the ice.

FD19372
Actually, McDavid might be the fastest player to EVER skate in the NHL. The kid has some INCREDIBLE wheels, not to mention many other great skills.

Don't give him time, or don't give space (they are after all the same thing really). That's a group effort by definition.

The only way to limit him, is to hit him whenever you can catch him.

Matching that speed is almost impossible. Well, it's completely impossible if you do it from behind. You've got no chance if you're beside him. But, if your timing's right, and you can take away his clean options, then you've got an outside chance. I think he's that fast; I'm not trying to be funny. This guy is special. Maybe there was somebody faster; I don't remember. Maybe there was somebody just as fast; I'm not sure who that is. But, I don't think there was ever a player with a set of hands that could keep up with that speed."
