  1. Would a Malkin for Shea Weber be a trade for Shero to consider if Nashville was willing. Nashville needs a number one scoring centre and Pittsburgh could use a stud on defense. Just a thought.
  2. @ Jmdodgesrt4 A big hell NO, he's the expensive version of Luke Schenn, he's not a leader, he sucks at defense and he's not a number one defenseman which is what the Flyers are looking for. If the Flyers traded for him I'd have to consider cheering for another team.
  3. I don't see Carter coming back but it wouldn't surprise me to see Richards possibly back in a Philly uniform because LA uses one of their compliance buyout on him. He didn't have a great year and I think he still has 7 or 8 years left on his deal with has an annual cap hit of $5.75 million that LA could use elsewhere. If LA wins the cup this year, I could see the buyout.
  4. Eventhough it would have been fun seeing another Pens/Flyers playoff series, Holmgren or Hextall has to rebuild the backend. Something else I never thought I'd say but it looks like the Flyers have a decent goaltender in Mason going forward and to build with. On the bright side I'd say it's better being a Flyers fan instead of a Sharks fan right now.
  5. @murraycraven There is still the Coburn to Edmonton rumours out there so maybe he's the one who goes since he'd probably get the most return back for the Flyers
  6. @ Flyercanuck Well it's a typical Stan Butler coached team, it should be a good series between Oshawa and NB hopefully Laughton shines.
  7. @flyercanuck True but he's missing the normal NMC! I haven't been following the Colts/North Bay series -how's it going?
  8. Are you sure it's not Ron Hextall who is doing the deals now considering the last couple signings didn't include Homer's usual NTC or NMC.
  9. So was I because I think it would have been a hell of a series
  10. I'm sure a lot of Pens were happy when the Flyers won it in overtime and knew that their Pens weren't facing the Flyers in the first round, eventhough it would have been hated series between the two teams.
  11. Well unless the Flyers have a meltdown in the last 3 games and Columbus goes on a tear, the Flyers will end up playing either the Bruins, Rangers or Pens. So which team would the Flyers fans like to face?
  12. @ TropicalFruitGirl26 Fair post and as for how many games he should get, I say give him 4 games (the rest of the regular season) and maybe that will make him realize what happens when you make a stupid play like that. I'm all for him playing with an edge but not playing over the edge (big difference).
  13. @brelic Lets hope they start winning some of the remaining games otherwise they could find themselves on the outside looking in, Columbus is 2 points behind them for 3rd in the division and New Jersey is 5 points back. As long as they match Columbus over the remaining 5 games then they'll end up playing the Rangers in the first round, if Columbus gets past them they could easily end up playing the Bruins which they don't want.
  14. @Podein25 Maybe he can turn out to be another Tony Esposito!
  15. @FC and Jammer2 I think Guelph is on a mission this year and I don't see the Knights beating them. The Hounds/Otters series should be a good one. FC, if the Colts can avoid the Generals until the Eastern Conference finals then it would be better for them. As for the mighty or not so mighty Wolves, they were playing so well most of the year but in the last month something had to be happening in the dressing room because they stopped playing as a team instead they were playing like a lot of individuals who didn't give a ****. It doesn't help that they have the owner's son playing on the team and he shouldn't be, I'm sure that doesn't sit well with the coaching staff and other players.
  16. Hey FC, Congrats on the Colts winning the series, they were the better team and looks like you guys are set in goal for the next 3 years, I really hope the Flyers keep an eye on Blackwood he's going to be good. I didn't see the whole game, was there any fights or was it a pretty tame game. Did Ekbald play last night? Now you guys will face Oshawa? I'm going to cheer for my hometown team, Soo Greyhounds.
  17. lol, he's going to be good(wow 16 years old, maybe Hextall and the boys should keep an eye on this boy). If you go to the game let me know your thoughts on the outcome, I'm sure Barrie doesn't want to go back to Sudbury for game 6 they want to end it tonight.
  18. @FC I remember reading that too, it's too bad that it came to this, this young man had his whole life ahead of him but to take it doesn't make any sense and I'm sure that's what his parents are thinking not to mention friends and people who knew him.
  19. @flyercanuck I don't expect the Wolves to come back against the Colts, they're too good of a team and the Wolves aren't. The goalie for the Colts, Blackwood, how old is this kid because he's going to be good, very positional sound and doesn't seem to get rattled. I would go to the Colts/Wolves game because if the score gets lopsided in favour of the Colts I could see some good scraps because players want to settle old scores.
  20. Very sad like Jammer2 stated these kids are under lots of pressure playing in the OHL while chasing their dreams. Hopefully the OHL is pro-active in setting up some type of system where players can go talk to someone without feeling that they'll look upon different by their coaches or fellow players.
  21. @ FC Branch has always been an idiot when it comes to suspensions in the OHL. I went to the Colts/Wolves game tonight, the Wolves prevailed 2-1, the refs were the show in the first period giving penalties like they were candy to both sides. The Colts got a scare in the second period when Ekblad went knee on knee with a Wolves player and went to the dressing room but he came back with 3 minutes to go in the second. Should be an interesting game tomorrow night in Barrie. Man, Claude Lemieux's son plays the same type of game his dad played, he was a royal pain in the ass tonight. Are you going to the game tomorrow night. As for Stolarz, I think what he did was stupid but Ho-Sang did a great job of selling the slash because if Stolarz had hit him really hard they would have been taking him out on a stretcher. He better hope his London teammates come through or else Mini Hextall will have to stand his head during the Memorial Cup
  22. @ Vanflyer Though I agree with you, no one will vote for a Flyer player!
  23. Jammer2, rumour up here is that the owner, Burgess, goes into the dressing room in between periods to chew out the players if they're playing bad. It's not a good situation so it will be interesting to see which team shows up.
  24. Hey FC, The winter has stunk this year, too damn cold for my liking. The problem for the Wolves is we don't know which team will show up, the one who was on fire a month ago or the one we're seeing now where they don't give a **** and aren't playing as a team. They have firepower and a good goalie in Palazee. But the Wolves have a secret weapon that Barrie should be scared of, the Wolves owner's son, Connor Burgess This kid should not be in the OHL but since daddy owns the team he gets to play which probably pisses off his teammates. Should be a good series, good luck.
