  1. Dustin Leed ‏@D_LEED 1m Anthony Stolarz suspended 8 games for slashing per OHL.
  2. While I don't disagree, there are ways this can be done, and done well. We've all seen moderated web chats, and they go extremely well. Granted, it's not unfiltered, but if you have an intelligent question, it will get to the participant. Opening up a hashtag for a Q/A on Twitter is just plain stupid. However, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!
  3. No kidding! Personally, I would have laughed just as hard at these, if it was Hartnell, and he was getting trolled by Pens fans. It was just funny stuff. The best tho, was some fans getting all worked up about it on Twitter. As if people were attacking their family or kids! Pretty sure Mr Neal laughed it off, went drinking, and picked up 5 co-eds to take home.
  4. Do your parents use Photoshop or Paint to crop you out of family photos? #AskNeal #embarrassment Do you have a girlfriend? Does she have cankles? #AskNeal Do you and crosby sometimes fight over who gets more attention from Pierre? #AskNeal If evolution is real, how come there are still monkeys? #askneal
  5. Dude...relax. Hal Gill is ready to roll if somone gets injured.
  6. Crosby did. C'mon..I HAD TO DO IT! IT WAS JUST SITTING THERE...IT HAD TO BE SAID.
  7. He's up, but he's an RFA, so something should get done.
  8. Such a great thing by the Sharks. I watched this video and it REALLY got to me. What a fantastic thing they did for this kid.
  9. Score a hat trick half way through last night's game?? ***EDIT--@flyercanuck beat me to the smart ass reply. Didn't notice initially***
  10. True, but is a ref's job 99.9% subjective anyway? Like Rad, said...I think there's a resolution to the problem. I'm just too dumb to figure it out.
  11. To be clear, I'm not saying that they all should be reviewed. Simply in this case, when it leads to a goal. A high sticking play that leads DIRECTLY to a goal. The whistle is NOT blown until Schenn touches the puck(i.e..what led directly to the goal). By not reviewing this situation, it's possible a goal could be disallowed for a stick that was NOT over the shoulder. Yet, that scoring play can't be reviewed under the current rule. I think that scenario should be reviewable. It's not a situation that happens too often, but with the league always searching for additional scoring, this could lead to a few more goals. Then again, it would also lead to more reviews.
  12. It was close, but I think it was a high stick. The problem is the rule; it needs to be changed. The ref interpreted the rule correctly. The rule is moronic ANYTHING that questions/leads to a goal should be reviewed...period.
  13. Thanks, man. Just spit coffee on my keyboard after reading this one.
  14. So is the point of this thread to address; fighting in general, "staged" vs "real" fighting, retaliation fights, or players fighting to police themselves? Cause to be honest, I've kinda lost track at this point
  15. Agree with you here. Flyers miss playoffs 2 years in a row, and he's gone.
  16. So for kicks, I went and looked at VLC's stat line. 26 points(14G, 12A), in 52 games...okay not horrible. However, 11 of those 26 are on the PP(7G and 4A). So in 52 games, he has 15 even strength points. YIKES. Additionally, he's -17 year to date...... Then there's this: including a FULL NMC. The contract is bad enough, and many of us on here said so at the time. Given his lack of productions, it's downright brutal at this point. 2013-14 $6,000,000 $6,000,000 $0 $4,000,000 $4,500,000 2014-15 $6,000,000 $6,000,000 $0 $2,000,000 $4,500,000 2015-16 $4,500,000 $4,500,000 $0 $2,000,000 $4,500,000 2016-17 $3,000,000 $3,000,000 $0 $500,000 $4,500,000 2017-18 $3,000,000 $3,000,000 $0 $0 $4,500,000
  17. Trade him back to Tampa and retain some salary.
  18. The Saginaw Spirit major junior hockey team confirmed Tuesday that the body of one of its players was found in his car in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Terry Trafford, 20, of Toronto, Canada, had last been seen March 3 at the Spirit's home area. His girlfriend, Skye Cieszlak, told the Saginaw News that she had received a text from Trafford the day before saying "his life was over and he didn't want to do it anymore." Police did not immediately indicate the cause of Trafford's death. The team confirmed earlier Tuesday that Trafford had been sent home as a disciplinary measure for a violation of team rules on a recent road trip. However, team president and managing partner Craig Goslin said that Trafford had not been dismissed from the team. "That would have been up to Terry," Goslin told the News. "He'd have to change his behavior and make some adjustments. He was on the roster." The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) announced that the scheduled Wednesday game between the Spirit and the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds had been postponed. "Our deepest condolences are with Terry's family and his friends both in Ontario and Michigan," a statement from the team said. "Terry played on our team and was a member of the Spirit family for the last four years and he will be missed." Trafford was in the middle of his fourth season with the Spirit and had recorded 8 goals, 24 assists, and 70 penalty minutes in 54 games. The club had drafted him in the third round of the OHL Priority Selection. The OHL is one of three major junior leagues in the Canadian Hockey League, considered one of the top developmental leagues for young hockey players.
  19. At the risk of hijacking this thread: Have players proven they can't, or has the league neutered them to the point they don't know what the can/can't do-get away with? Which leads to players NOT policing themselves, and exchanging cheap shot for cheap shot? Rather than handling things they way they used to. Granted...the Thornton/Orpik episode is outside what I asked. That was just flat out stupid/ridiculous, and uncalled for.
  20. Dang....Doc is one smart cookie. He should be immediately banned from this site. No one with intelligence is allowed on here. Seriously, though...thanks for the info. Great reading.
  21. @jammer2 I agree. I shudder when I think what I was doing at 20. Okay...sometimes I smile too. This kid has his whole life ahead of him. Getting cut has to be tough on him, but it's also not the end of the world-as this kid seems to think.
  22. Aww...man, really?? Been a bunch of activity about this on Twitter the last few days. Didn't hear any of what FC just mentioned.
