  1. Whichever team makes it out of the East will easily become the biggest test of the playoffs for the Avs. Vasilevskiy is a difference maker for sure and especially on those critical difference making games. He is a game changer. I also think Shesterkin can be that sort of goaltender as well. Don't overlook the Avs though because they have a few of those kinds of difference maker players as well in MacKinnon, Makar, Landeskog and Rantanen.
  2. Here is the problem I have with this. The effect of the Avalanche losing Nazim Kadri for what will be the remainder of the playoffs is much more detrimental to the Avs than Evander Kane missing the 1 game he did for Edmonton. The loss of games just does not equal out at all and what Kadri did was absolutely nothing. I don't know exactly how to remedy this such as having the player lose as many games as the player who gets injury, but that wouldn't really work because players might hold out longer just to keep out the suspended player longer especially if the player who injured the other player is a teams top player. So I don't know what the answer is, but there does need to be consistency.
  3. I honestly don't have any issue with it. I suppose I tune those half screen commercials out just as easily as I do when I am watching a show and a commercial comes on and I tune that out until the show returns.
  4. It has been 21 years(2000-2001 season) since the team has hoisted the Stanley Cup. I was a big 8 years old at the time so to say the least this is really my first go around with the Avalanche and the Stanley Cup Finals. Along the way we have had the Kuemper issues. Nazim Kadri and the issue with Jordan Binnington and then him being boarded and breaking his thumb and needing surgery and out for the remainder of the playoffs. Even with these things Mackinnon and Makar have pretty much rolled through the playoffs. I am extremely excited as is this State and City. It is going to be one exciting time. GO AVS GO!!!
  5. Moritz Seider does it all. He not only delivers Assists at an alarming rate, he also is very effective with the Power Play and Penalty Kills for the Detroit Red Wings. He definitely has a bright future on the Detroit Red Wings blue line for many years to come.
  6. Auston Matthews if he had a player like Leon Draisaitl playing on the same team as him his numbers would be even more outrageous. He has Mitch Marner and others , but nothing really of the caliber of Draisaitl. I truly believe Matthews would put up higher numbers than McDavid if he had a player like Draisaitl. That is why he deserves this award.
  7. All three of these teams have talent whether it be Gaudreau, Tkachuk, & Lindholm or Panarin, Shesterkin, & Zibanejad or Barkov, Huberdeau & Ekblad. These coaches were all working with talented players. What Brunette did taking over the team under the circumstances he did and keeping the team rolling along was amazing. Sutter doing what he did in his first year all props to him and Gallant is still rolling along with the New York Rangers. Each coach really deserved the award. I would have chosen Brunette if I had a vote, but any of them made a great choice.
  8. The Colorado Avalanche do not have a selection until the 3rd Round in this year's draft. They are going to have to dig deep to try and find a diamond in the rough as this draft is not suppose to be very deep, but there still might be that find that could be developed by the right club that they draft in the later rounds and that club could end up being the Colorado Avalanche.
  9. One of the biggest rivalries of all time. I was only 4 years old when this happened , but this was epic.
  10. My team the Colorado Avalanche have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and I am quite pleased about that. Whichever team that makes it out of the Eastern Conference Final is going to be the biggest test of these playoffs for the Avs there is no denying that. When I filled out my Stanley Cup Brackets a few weeks back I of course had the Avalanche coming out of the Western Conference and in the Eastern Conference I could not go against the Champions and Andrei Vasilevskiy who I believe rises to the occasion in important games to get the job done. Of course once he gets into the Stanley Cup Finals I want a Rocky Mountain Avalanche to fall on him and all of that to end with the Avs scoring on him right and left. I still think it is going to be an epic final whichever team makes it out of the Eastern Conference and it will go 7 games with the Avalanche winning it all.
  11. There have been a few upsets so far in this tournament of players that in the not so near future will be vying for their countries National Teams for the Olympic Games. One of the major upsets was Finland beating Canada 2-0. I know this is only a start, but this sport has been dominated by the Canadian and United States Women for quite some time with some epic hockey games. Maybe the tide might be turning with other teams getting into the mix in the near future.
  12. Josh has been an incredible pick up and addition to the blueline for the Avs and has been great during the playoffs. He also does well on the Penalty Kill.
  13. Like I stated in the Western Conference Finals thread between the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers whoever comes out the victor in this series will pose the toughest threat of the playoffs for the Avs so far. So honestly, I could care less which team wins this series because I feel both teams pose some problems for the Avs, but what I feel is more important right now in this series is that is goes 7 games.
  14. The Colorado Avalanche whoever they come up against in the Stanley Cup Finals, will easily become the toughest test in this playoffs for them. The 1st round they destroyed the Preds and some of that was the loss of the starting goalie Saros. Even still, I don't think Nashville stood much of a chance. The 2nd round and the toughest challenge to date for the Avs has been the St. Louis Blues. I think some of the experience they had helped them with a little of their success, but they still in the end did not have nearly the talent the Avs have. Then the Conference Finals against the Oilers was another mistmatch. Other than the Oilers having the speed up front they really didn't match up well on the back end and the Oilers goaltending is astrocious. Now either Tampa Bay or the New York Rangers await the Avs and both have things that could frustrate the Avs. Tampa Bay of course has a goaltender who can easily take over any game. The New York Rangers are a much younger team and their speed could pose a problem for the Avs. Whoever reaches the Stanley Cup Finals in the Eastern Conference will give the Avs some headaches so I am hoping for a game 7 in this series. I really don't care who wins the series, but going 7 games is what is more important to me.
