hf101 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Ghost got the #1 fan vote - excellent! Of the 10 finalist Ghost is the only d-man. Wow Congrats! Quote

AlaskaFlyerFan Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Matt Gilroy Didn't realize Gilroy won it. That means there are 2 Hobey winners playing here in San Antonio...Gilroy and Mike Mottau. Isn't that some schiznit!! Quote
jammer2 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Don't want to put undue pressure on the kid, but is this *our* 2nd round diamond in the rough......has Homer finally hit 2nd round pay dirt!?!? This is so very exciting.....can't wait to hear about how his training camp goes next year......maybe a debut in 2015, I don't think that would be an unrealistic goal, would you? Quote
Claude Monet Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Ryan poltuny made it this far also. I shall wait and see. Raffl on the other hand is making my head turn Quote

Amazing how picks can turn into something good if you don't throw them away. Quote
jackhole Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 jammer, Except for Ghost being 'got' in the 3rd round. Naw, this will only encourage Homer as 3rd round picks and non-draftees are - clearly - better than the anal wash that comes out of the 2nd round Quote
flyercanuck Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 @jackhole I'm pretty sure Homer throws away as many 3rds as 2nds. edit : since he came in as gm he's traded away 11- 3rds and 9 - 2nds Quote
hf101 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 If you wish. Vote for Ghost daily. http://www.hobeybaker.com/awards/the-hobey-baker-memorial-award/vote Quote
jammer2 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 @hf101 Just checked, out of the 10 finalists, only Motte and Rumpel are undrafted. Quote
Vanflyer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Don't want to put undue pressure on the kid, but is this *our* 2nd round diamond in the rough......has Homer finally hit 2nd round pay dirt!?!? Not for nothing, but equally to your point, Ghost was a third round pick. Our 2nd was Stolarz (goalie) and 1st Laughton. Quote
Vanflyer Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 ahh, thanks for the correction. No worries. I might have to go see where our picks came from. Certainly we did not have our own 2nd and 3rd rounders!! Quote
jammer2 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 @Vanflyer A really nice list of all draft picks that have been traded for the upcoming 2014 draft, and full details on the special conditions etc....an awesome find! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_NHL_Entry_Draft#Traded_picks Quote
Adamflyers Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Ghost is currently leading the voting by a narrow margin. Of course it means nothing to how he will actually pan out, but it would be very cool to see him win the award! Quote
