    I don't like it. To me, it's up to the player doing the hitting to make sure it's clean. He didn't have the puck anymore and seabrooke hit him in the head. I don't care about 5 years ago. It's against the rules now and he should be punished. I always ask myself "Would I have a problem if Giroux was hit like that"... and I def. would.

    Ray's chronic hip ailment is def. showing it's effects imo. He was always known as a 'battler' and while he wasn't the quickest goalie, he wasn't statuesque like he is now. I'm sure Chi-towns defense made him look better last year, but I think he's also just physically not able to perform like last year either b/c of his hip. Def. time to hang them up. I don't want to sound like 'that guy' but I kinda wanted the flyers to look for a 3rd 'decent' goalie at the deadline. Hopefully Mase is fine.

    Watch Phaneuf let Helm score here... it's hard to see b/c the weak play by phaneuf happens RIGHT AWAY in the video. Phaneuf chases helm into the corner then allows him to skate back to the net untouched and score a goal.... that's their captain?? and their best dman??     ??... looked like a cross check to the head to me... a fairly light one, but still a direct blow to the head. Neal is a moron. Apparently his own recent head trauma hasn't done anything to deter his habit of being dirty. I know I wouldn't want giroux getting hit up high like that.

    Candidate?... definitely yes. Winner... No. That has to go to Roy in Colorado. Nobody had them competing for a playoff spot, let alone sitting 4th in the super competitive West.

    Exactly... he showed WAY more than reinhart at the world juniors. He was arguably Canada's most consistent D-man. He'd be the #1 choice in my books too.

    Well... Schenn just seems oblivious sometimes out there. Yeah, he's slow as hell but he also seems to misread a lot of plays.

    From the highlights, it still looks like we hung the goalie out to dry way too many times. Our d-zone coverage needs sooooooo much work.

    Who the hell knows if Berube even has A system... maybe he'll just keep telling them to "work harder" a la Bill Barber.

    Mesz and Steit together!?!.... Opponents must be licking their chops!!! Those 2 have stunk this year so far. I didn't expect Streit to be a defensive wall, but come on... he's been horrible. Add that to the fact that he's added nothing offensively.

    I see nothing wrong with that and wouldn't have an issue if a Flyer got hit like that.

    Hopefully RInaldo joins that company eventually.... Max Lapierre (vancouver, and now... ?) comes to my mind as one of the biggest superpests now.

    It's hard to get a good feeling for what they're going to be like. I don't see how they can possibly be worse than last year. On paper, they're a slightly better team. And if they are worse than last year??... maybe it'll mean proper changes from the top down. I imagine Lavi first and then Homer after the season. Either way, it'll be eventful! The worst outcome would be another .500'ish season. Enough to get lavi canned probably but not enough to get this ship properly refitted.

    1) Yes, the franchise is named after the famous Tim Horton... I believe it's now owned by some mega-corp like everything else though. 2) Their donuts used to great!...they were made and baked fresh at each location. Now they're all made at some mega-corp location and then frozen, then shipped out to locations to be warmed up. lame!! 3) I don't mind a honey krueller either... but I'm more of a boston cream man :-)

    @flyerrod ... not like there's a long list of smart remarks to choose from... ...but I totally agree. Hits to the head should be as close to eliminated as possible.

    Buffalo's season will be so bad, they'll be relocated to Quebec City next fall.
