Gordon is out. Kerry Huffman went with him.

Interesting.  I wonder what is behind this and how it applies to the big club

Im sure they will hire some former player (yes man), to be coach

Fired?  Or contracts expired and won’t be renewed?

Ron Hextall's boy's are out and now Chuckles gets to find his guys. No clue who it could be.

Reports i read say released or parted ways. Huffman stepped down

Sounds to me like they told Gordon he was out, but made it sound mutual. Huffman stepped down to avoide being "fired"

It strikes me as a move brought on by the seasons disaster

My hope is they hire a guy that will apply the same approach and systems the NHL club use.

The Bruins do this, they can call guys up and they fit right in because they know what's up.

A hire that bolsters organizational strength and continuity is what I'm hoping to see.

Exactly.

It was always my issue with Gordon they didn't implement the same systems to the kid in LV and it would cause issues trying to integrate the kids when they were recalled.

This never made sense to me.

It should be one system devised by the Flyers head coach.

It should be what he wants his kids to have a head start on learning in the AHL before they are given a chance to get a callup.

That way they are prepared to jump in and help and this will also cause less growing pains once they arrive therefore in my mind being able to evaluate the talent better.

Just never understood why the Flyers didn't employ this mindset....maybe because they didn't believe it mattered??

Can't say.

By all means, bring the Flyers defense scheme to LVH.  It's world class, after all.

(I completely get what you're saying and I agree. I just couldn't help but direct snark toward the Flyers)

Not sure if this is a chicken or the egg issue....was it the system or just the whole defense with their head up their asses all season...i swear i can't tell anymore.

Watching them this season sometimes just made me dizzy...and that was before the bourbon.

I see as an interim he missed the playoffs twice and then went out in the 1st round. Coached Minnesota. Checks all the boxes. Sounds like our guy.

More to follow i am sure.

Sounds like damage control to me

If his contract was up end of next season, and he thought he was a "lame duck", that just shows he knew he was out

The Phantoms actually had a pretty good year and were robbed in the playoffs.

This seems obvious, but apparently is a complex thing for the braintrust in the E Suite.

Nope............it is why i have been questioning since Ron was here. Explains why some of the kids struggle to the deck seemed stacked against them from the start.

Yes. And he should be familiar with the system they are running on the big boy team.

So maybe some continuity will be with both teams.
