Vincent05
http://www.thefourthperiod.com/news/car111114.htmlMany rumors have suggested that the Hurricanes have been looking to make changes to strengthen the team, although no specific player had been thrown under the trade bus. However, according to Luke DeCock, the Canes might already have an idea on which puck-moving defenseman they could use as trade bait to acquire a top-six forward. Tomas Kaberle, who was acquired during the off-season, has struggled to make adjustments to the new defensive system implemented by Canes assistant coach Dave Lewis. "Desperate to move Kaberle. Would they move McBain? I wouldn't. Need to get a comparable young forward back. Already have those," DeCock posted on his Twitter account. The 33-year-old signed a three-year, $12.75 million contract with the Canes after winning a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins last June. In 17 games with the Hurricanes this season, Kaberle has tallied four assists. So glad we never got him here. How can a good player just in a few years become garbage? phlfly
he helped to win a cup in Boston. So it's too soon to say he is garbage. He had a good fit in Boston and even bad team like Leafs.
Vincent05
Garbage may be not be a wise choice of word, bad is better. Nah he barely helped them, their PP was bad in the playoffs. He was lucky to be on that team and now is being overpaid. Edited November 15, 2011 by Vincent05
fishbulb
He most definitely did not 'help' them win the cup... imo, they won it in spite of him. He kinda showed some positives during the last round, but he was AWFUL for the first few. They definitely did not get much out of him. OzFlyer
@phlfly He sucked in Boston. He is just lucky to get his name on the Cup!
radoran
Kaberle was great in Tronno - where there's no pressure to succeed or actually win anything. Now he's just playing out the string and collecting a check.

He didn't do much to hurt them, but he hardly helped either. Put it this way: Boston would've won with him or without him.Anyway...... he is not what the Flyers need. Too prone to mistakes, not as fast as he used to be, and just not very good defensively overall. No thanks!
flyerrod
I think Kaberle is overpaid for what he contributes. He definitely leans towards the offensive defenseman side and would be in Lavi's dog house in less than a week. You know a team like Carolina might be able to use a guy like........damn....never mind..... The point is he is not fitting in a system where he should excel, There would be no way on earth that he would survive in philly..... I might go a little further on that comment. He makes Matt Carle look like a stay at home defensive stud.

jammer2
@phlfly Kaberle was playing around 5-6 minutes a night during the finals.....Julien didn't trust him to put him out there more....a telling stat if there ever was one. You can describe his overall body of work for the playoffs as "downright horrible". One of the most undeserving names *EVER* engraved on Lord Stanley's cup.
