It's not a message board without @canoli ! thanks Rux, thanks you guys - crazybusy the past few months + Flyers sucking = watching more Isles and Rags this season. I guess Mason's knee is worse than they've been telling the media...more than the usual b.s. they tell us I mean. I hope he recovers over the summer. Taking chances with his health is real dumb even for the Flyers. This year's goalie mess is even worse than how Lavy and Co. handled Bob. Mason is a winner - a franchise goalie - and the HC runs him into the ground, makes so many stupid decisions that Reese quits his job. Unreal. Reese is the guy Mason credited with helping his game tremendously, the guy he relied on...nice job there Chief...exactly the opposite of how it's supposed to be done. To what purpose? I know we want them to try or it becomes unwatchable. So, if you were playing Emery because of back-to-back and trying to win with that, then go do it. I don't want "tank" in the sense that they aren't trying to win. But I really don't want to see a bunch of wins pile up in the W column. At this point, it serves no purpose. The playoffs are dead. So, losing might actually get us a better player. So, without trying to be a jerk, I completely get the benefit of trying, but what benefit does a couple more Ws serve at this point?No no no, that's not it...I meant the question literally, no smarm. I hate the idea of moving Mason, but you can bet that the Flyers organization will call Mason a distraction and that his actions weren't in the best interest of the team. The problem though is that this isn't the first time the Flyers organization has done something like this. I just don't know if they'll do the right thing and keep Mason, which they should. The one hope I do have is that Hextall has shown that he answers to no one and does things his way. He's already let people go who do not fit his plan on how the team will be run going forward, so if there are Berube fans that remain and make things difficult, he won't hesitate on canning people. Either way, this off season is going to give everyone an indication as to how Hextall is going to move forward. I'm expecting a major blood letting in that coaching throughout the organization will be cut. This could be quite the off season when all is said and done.
