I watched the seventh game Bruins/Flyers 2010 on Comcast channel 8 this week,Great game! Sadly, it show me just how far out of contention the present Flyers really are!
When I think of what type of players the Flyers need, you only have to look at the Kings. These guys are all decent size, skilled,North American hockey attitude, well coached, super goalie, and a sprinkling of European players. Seems to work!
Brendan Lemiux 6' 206lb. left wing, projected to go at # 28. Seems like a Flyer's kind of player, but I really don't know much about him. What's everybody else think?
Carter and Richards were being ask to do a job neither were capable of and the results are obvious. The Schenn brothers seem to have problem with the sense and act part of their game, once they get that squared away, things might improve.
The package I suggested would provide Lavi with some instant offense, something the Pred's have in short supply. For the Flyers it would be like getting rid of non-income generating employees!
Untouchables? I think at this point anything goes, hopefully start unloading older players and bring in the young guys! This team exudes softness to the point of embarrassment, one of the Maloney brothers mentioned it during the first round. The Flyer's need some forwards who aren't afraid to go to the net, ,stick their nose in it,and can also play. Nobody presently on the team comes to mind as having those skills and attitude in their resume. The Rangers beat up on poor Claudster the whole series and nobody did a thing!
I'm glad Mason is well and he is back in goal!! Now who is going to do the scoring? Will the bone crushing Flyer's "D" men be in tonight? I would imagine one thing on Mason's mind is nightmare of being run over in his own goal ?
The Flyers are getting pushed around and be exposed as ultra soft. Chief could bring a couple of bigger "D" men to at least keep a little respect in front of the net and in the Flyer's end to avoid total humiliation!
It would be nice to see the Flyers stick up for the goalie, forward, defense man, anybody. When Raffle got waffled only Hal Gill seemed interested, the rest of the guys just skated away.
Apparently "Casper" doesn't agree the Flyer's are a go to team. Speaking of defense,it was nice seeing a "D" man who the other team didn't man handle when Hal Gill played this week end. It looked like Voracek agreed.
