  1. I can't speak to the boring angle because, like you, I only watch the Flyers. But the WFC does feel super dead and lame compared to other arenas... I think it was the NYI game where I was blown away at how loud their arena was. I will say that maybe a big part of it is that the gameday entertainment in the arena works as hard as possible to keep you distracted from the actual game. I remember being frustrated with that when I worked for the Sens.
  2. Two stats I found hard to believe at first glance... 1. 2. The Flyers are 8-0-2 when leading after 2 periods. So we have been near perfect when leading after 2, and also have had the lead after 2 in almost half our games.
  3. "We'll give you Jake and a refurbished avionics system for Johnny."
  4. I don't know about that... if that means current roster players (esp the young guys), then I agree. I have no interest in trading TK, Lindblom, Farabee, Frost, Myers, Provorov. Ghost is an option. Sanheim, I could be convinced. But then they need a plan not named Hagg for the rest of the season. Or prospects, like a Sandstrom or Zamula, O'Brien. Really, the only prospects I'm not including would be Brink and York.
  5. Almost EVERY team in the NHL will lose about 30+ games and get outplayed in at least as many, if not more.
  6. Oh yay!!! I can't wait for the xpectedStanley Cup parade!
  7. Don't think Morin - who has as close to zero value as possible - can be traded while injured. Gaudreau is 26, so it would take Voracek and a second-tier prospect.
  8. Sure, but it was completely unrelated to his migraine issues (at least that we know of). It's just crappy for Patrick the person *and* the professional hockey player that he's having to deal with this.
  9. I mean, to be fair, they passed on Heiskanen too because they weren't looking for a defenseman. Hard to imagine many GMs passing on Patrick at #2 at the time.
  10. Friedman might be an option but he’s injured right now and he’s an unknown quantity at the NHL level. I don’t think they’d go that route until they know he can play in the NHL. And even if he’s adequate, he’s a downgrade from Ghost I’d say.
  11. The biggest challenge in trading Ghost is that we're essentially left with Hagg. And I can't imagine any team trading us a young scoring winger plus a top 4 defenseman, or a solid 5 at worst. So we'd be creating a hole to fill another.
  12. He is, but I've seen more 'bite' to his game than I ever have from JVR. Every once in a while, Angry Patrick would show up and dominate a game on the scoreboard and in the board battles. That's what we need to see more consistently. Apparently he's not even skating anymore.
  13. We can add Cale Makar as another from the 2017 draft that has surpassed Patrick. We really needed to hit on that #2 overall gift. Heck, even Necas (drafted 12th), Suzuki (13th) and Thomas (20th) have surpassed him in points per game. I hope he comes back fully healthy with a chip on his shoulder.
  14. Think about the leaders on this team. G, Jake, JVR, Coots, Ghost. All of them soft as tissue paper. Like you say, you don't need to make the highlight reels every night for destroying a player with a hit, but you have to WANT the effin puck and go get it. They seem like they could go either way on the wanting the puck thing. G and Coots are better than the other 3. That's who our young guys are learning from.
  15. It would be nice to see any of our veteran leaders step up and contribute. Anyone, really. Notice that TK shift towards the end when he was out and made a few really strong play on the boards and initiated physical contact? Why don't they play like that all the time? I've never seen so many guys peel away from players and checks. Passive hockey from the team. Hart was not good, but the team didn't really help him either. Jake, JVR and Hayes were especially ineffective when you consider the talent on that line. Anyway, work in progress, but super frustrating.
  16. I picked up some MK Ultra at the store the other day. Hadn't tried it before - it's a really nice indica that has a mix of giggly/creative head high but also really calming.
  17. I found isolated footage of Jake's last game.
  18. This. Just looking at the Leafs metrics, it is very reminiscent of the Flyers last year around the same point, and a few weeks later, Hakstol was fired. It's much more than the record - it's all the red flags that surround it. Out of curiosity, I wonder what the Blues' metrics were around this time last year. Couldn't have been much better, right? Of course, the Blues won a Cup with ex-Flyer coach Berube, so if history holds, the Leafs will win the Cup with Hakstol at the helm lol.
  19. Ah, gotcha. So first, yes, Davinci is Mac. Also Windows and Linux. If you have a YouTube premium account, it lets you download videos - which you could then bring in to whatever software you use, cut up the section you want, and discard the rest. You can try to screen cap, but that wouldn't be through Davinci. Use one of those screen recorders that vloggers use to show what they're doing on the screen. Not sure how good the quality would be if you just capture the screen.
  20. I mean, if three players making $23M can't score a couple goals, that's a huge problem. I'm all for finding chemistry and balance, but for f*** sakes guys, figure it out.
  21. Lines per Meltzer are Lindblom/Coots/Farabee G/Frost/TK (G will take faceoffs) JVR/Hayes/Jake Andreoff/Raffl/Pitlick
  22. Two questions for ya.. 1. Who do you *think* will take over? 2. Who do you *want* to take over? Could be the same person. The one person you probably *don't* want is Hakstol!
  23. Lol, that's why we're fans! If we were all rational all the time, that's not being a "fan", that's being an analyst. Yeah, I don't think they have much in terms of "elite" talent, but as you say, they are larger than the sum of its parts. A big chunk of that is Trotz. I think AV is able to do the same here to some extent. Let's see what Frost does! I'm excited to watch his NHL debut.
  24. If you're looking for software to do it, I would suggest Davinci Resolve. It is a professional level video editing suite but with a completely free version that omits some features that non-professionals wouldn't use anyway. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/ Like any complex software, there is a learning curve, but honestly, I watched one 20 minute video and was on my way.
