  1. If you are going to replace any of the forwards on merit it would have to be Rinaldo, B.Schenn or Hartnell. And if I were choosing it would be Hartnell. He brings nothing but an anchor to Jake/G. Let Laughton play with G/Jake.
  2. First time Mason starts in a playoff game in a long time (at home in Philly no less) after having an 'upper body' injury. He could provide the spark that the Flyers need with a great save or two I'm just hoping he tosses a good game and keeps them in it.
  3. And with a Thursday - Sunday schedule, G3 isn't until next Tuesday so that gives Mason nearly an extra week to get back at it. It's not all bad. If Mason is even the slightest bit questionable for G2, I would hold him out until G3 and then ride him as far as he can go. I'm more concerned about the team in front of Emery getting steam rolled in the first period of game 1 and not recovering. So, in my mind G1 is meaningless. If the Flyers can steal it then that's great but it's how they respond in G2 to a loss in G1 that means a lot more (IMHO). The Garden isn't an easy place to play, especially in the playoffs. Steal G2, get Mason back in G3 and it's a series the Flyers can steal.
  4. He predicted the playoffs (see this thread) and he delivered. He's also currently 5th in points, 28th in goals, 6th in assists, 11th in game winning goals & 4th in power play points. He battled his way through the beginning of the season and has this team playing pretty well. Giroux is a good captain and at age 26, only just entering his prime. Credit where credit is due.
  5. Typically playing against the other team's 4th line isn't hurting him at all.
  6. Those five go down to three: Laughton or Couturier or Schenn. If Laughton or Schenn get it done, do it. If you need a kicker, Gus. If it's Couturier, Homer gets Ristolainen
  7. Agreed on a winger for G/Jake. This is the #1 priority in my mind. Those two have chemistry. Add a third and that line is a threat every shift. Flyers have a stock pile of young d-men. Let them develop. I don't agree with trading Matt Read. Some disagree but I think those players that have a high hockey IQ, consistently contribute and can play on any line - those are the players that keep playoff runs alive.
  8. @radoran Old, broken, tired and wealthy. 1:2
  9. @AndyS Have a great time Andy. Next year will be my daughters first game (@Boston no doubt) as she'll be 5 also.
  10. I'm always interested in this aspect.... I don't have time to look it up but let's say VLC has made 80m over his career. If he took just 1/2 of what he's earned and Invested it correctly......at a conservative 6% per year, he's making 2.4m per year right there. That's nearly 10m over 4 years. That doesn't include endorsments & so on..... I would hope that VLC (or his wife) don't need that extra $10m!
  11. Two must win games against the Canes & Jackets. After that it's going to be tough to get points in the next 4-5 games.
  12. Who typed this for you? Just kidding. As @radoran said, if the Flyers don't win a cup by the time Richards retires then the Kings won the trade.
  13. If the core young players are left to develop (Only replace aging vets) = 3-4 years (Giroux is 29/30 yrs old) If Homer/Another GM/Snider keep doing what they do year in and year out = By the time I'm dead hopefully.
  14. @brelic 3 for 12$ is a good deal all around. Anything more and, well, it's Homerish?
  15. With Game Center, almost all that aren't blacked out are HD or at least close enough. My problem is black outs.
  16. @JackStraw That's been my go to now. Having the home feed is so nice and the HD feed. I have the same thing on Roku but it's just not as nice. @jammer2 I use the ipad also if I'm doing work during the game. Works just as well as Apple Tv. The difference is you can hook apple tv up to a big HD TV and it looks real nice. The only problem with GameCenter for me is that if there is ever a national broadcast, I have to find a internet stream and sit at the computer.
  17. @cjtbergquist Apple TV and Ipad work well for me.
  18. Didn't know that. That supports the theory it was a statement to Homer then. Snider has a choice. Back Homer or back the team. Didn't know this either until I read it this morning
  19. You aren't the only one. If I didn't say it in the game chat last night then I was at least thinking it. To many beers. But I agree with you. I think that was a statement game to someone. Homer? Berube? Pissed about Talbot or Downie? Or there is a real rift in the locker room. IMO that was more than just a 7-0 ass whipping that happens to all teams at least 1x during the season. They quit for some reason.
  20. There is no doubt now that there needs to be a rebuild. Starting with the GM. Who's your core that you keep? Assume that all players will wave NMC/NTC's. Assume fair value will be returned in all trades.
