  1. I'd start by trying to move VLC at any cost. He does not fit anything this team needs. I'd qualify Schenn, but nowhere near where he'd like to be. Couturier is fine but needs a better winger to play with him. I'd move Read off that line and try him with Simmer and Schenn. I'd try and trade for an actual sniper to play with Giroux. Defense is what it is and it's not going anywhere since they all basically are locked in for life.. grrrr Emery has done what has been asked of him, and I'd seriously evaluate Heeter next season. Mason is a breath of fresh air. He is what this team has been missing for years. I'd hate to dog VLC, but he just does not fit at all on this team.
  2. Key to the game: VLC only on the 2nd power play unit. Does he even get the concept of back checking? Has anyone informed him that he should still pursue the puck after it passes the red line? Okay, I am done bashing the guy, but between that and the fifteen passes before they decide to shoot mentality is mind numbing. However, this is going to be a battle tonight and I hope last nights Flyers team shows up. I am not sure if Henry is going to have bad outings back-to-back, but then again anything is possible. I can foresee a cautious chess match for the 1st period, but the first team to score is going to change all that. GO FLYERS!!!
  3. @Hockey Junkie Leino is terrible and has arguably the worst contract in pro hockey. Nobody said when a Flyer leaves they are automatically garbage, have you seen the insane amount of Patrick Sharp threads posted in these parts? Leino on the other hand is not Patrick Sharp. He is more like MacGregor Sharp.....
  4. @pilldoc Tampa losing hurts as Stamkos was my work horse. Ok, now I need Iggy to step it up a notch or two...
  5. @Commander Clueless Heeter is too green in my books. Razor isn't that bad, but he's been exposed with his awful lateral movement, coupled with a terrible game. I think Mason needs to use the next three days to get in game shape.
  6. The only promise I want to hear is that Razor Ray Emery will not be starting a game the rest of this series. He was God awful last night. Not saying they would have won that game but every goal was a bad goal. Carcillo, really Ray, you couldn't at least stop him?!?!?!
  7. @Lunatic I believe it's: Akerson, Gustafsson, Alt, Cousins, Alserson, Danis (Ghost, but cannot play since his contract does not kick in till the start of next season)
  8. @OccamsRazor This is true.... I just figured I'd get the basics out for Lunatic.
  9. @Lunatic The Black Aces are the Flyers expanded playoff roster. Essentially after the Phantoms season ended they announced who these players would be. In other words, they are the playoff emergency call-ups and they practice with the Flyers during the playoffs.
  10. I just think St. Louis and Co. are so classy. They will certainly warm the hearts of those in attendance at the WF Center.
  11. @King Knut There needs to be a rule on this. I is just absurd that players can run or cross check players into goalies. There is no silver lining to this cloud. NONE
  12. I fully expect a boring 1-0 game tomorrow. Every skater is going to have to play D tomorrow. This is infuriating to see Mason out and the damn team won't say why or for how long.
  13. @Vanflyer@radoran Thanks guys. I have read the other threads provided by Rad and think I am officially up to speed.... I guess now am really puzzled about the lack luster effort last night. Sorry if I came off as a jerk in my last comment, I am on 3 hrs of sleep and no coffee yet.... Cheers Gents
  14. Well when they completely change the entire format of the playoffs, I would imagine there may be a little confusion going around. Some, like myself, are still wrapping our minds around the old format(old habits die hard). Thus, this is why I thought it may be possible to face another division opponent (thinking the old format rules). The more I see it, the more I like the new format. It gives a lot more hype around a series and makes the match-ups far more interesting. However, I will admit since the last lockout life has become very busy in the Mega household, and I have not been glued to the NHL as much as I used to be. So a lot of the new nuances are sort of alien to me and I am sure many others. Can someone please explain to me (if it's not too painful to educate my feeble mind) that if the Flyers loose out and Columbus wins out, would the Flyers than face Pittsburgh and Columbus faces the Rangers? Now VF don't have an aneurysm I am just asking a question here. I know it's painful to answer without backhanded insults, but please keep in mind that I don't have a copy of the NHL Bible any longer.
  15. I sure hope the next person to be named the NHL Director of Player Safety is: Chris SImon
  16. I fully expect 8 years 4.5mm per year with a full NMC/NTC.... I can see it now....
  17. @radoran Thanks for the clarification Rad. This is intriguing how they formatted the brackets; however, this is going to take time for me to wrap my head around this.
  18. @Vanflyer Thanks Van for providing that. I guess if the Flyers win out and the Rangers drop their last two, would that change to the Flyers facing the Habs? In either case, I really like this match ups as they are now.
  19. It's nice to see him produce and he looks like an actual hockey player right now. The plus side to it is this movement to the 4th line is going to cause fits for whichever team the Flyers match up against in the 1st round, any round for that matter. It basically is going to cause line juggling to contain the scoring threat that comes from the Flyers 4th line. I like this idea because either the opposing team his to roll the dice with a mismatch, over work another line by double shifting, or change their lineup completely. When Rinaldo comes back this is going to get interesting....
  20. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but there was a fat boheimeth of a woman wearing an old (mid 90's) Sabres jersey that was flipping out mad when the Flyers tallied their 5th goal. She had stringy blonde hair and was, by the looks of things, a svelte 350 lbs. She was going ape **** and throwing the bird after VLC set up McGinn on the 5th goal late in the 3rd. I found it very odd that a Sabres Fan was at a Panthers/Flyers game and then was pissed when the Flyers scored... then the reality set in that there is another Sabres fan that lurks these boards that would probably go to a Kings/Flyers game in LA just for the chance to bash the Flyers. So in the end maybe that is not too odd considering the mentality of that backwards frozen tundra. However, I do digress, so if anyone else saw this please back my story.....
  21. @AndyS "STH" = Sheffield Teaching Hospital Poulin20 was kicked out of the nursing program....
