Popular Post mkscrewy
Not so fast. Friedman is reporting the following statement has been found: ”I have willingly terminated the contract myself. My ambition to play in the inferior NHL league of North America has caused myself and my family great shame. I have disappointed and disrespected my country and my president and wish to ask forgiveness” the note was reportedly found in a burlap sack that was tied shut along with the body of an unidentified male who had been poisoned, shot, stabbed, and strangled by his own hand before committing suicide by jumping off a bridge in aforementioned burlap sack and drowning in the Volga River. Eklund confirming E3.
mkscrewy
Also included in the letter is Fedotov’s clear contempt for the team that drafted him as he repeatedly mentions the quote, "cheatin'-ass Flyers", unquote, in perhaps a nod to the Red Army - Flyers game of 1976, an event confirmed by family as angering him since as early as they can remember.
OccamsRazor
Awesome news. So he comes over plays well enough to be flipped at the deadline for a 2nd. Then they call up Kolosov!!!
BobbyClarkeFan16
The Score did mention that he is on his way over to North America. The more goaltenders available, the better.

But if he plays then he will be a UFA right? He only has one year left before be is a UFA so I'd rather save it for next season.
Digityman
Kosolov and Fedtov within a few days/weeks of each other. This could be a major boon for the Flyers (with major caveats of course).

And none of this was leaked it is very impressive of Danny how they can keep tight lips and no leaks like with Cutter nothing came out when till he was dealt and also with Michkov coming to Philly pre draft not a word till they wanted everyone to know. Very very impressive.

What caveats, we have to send Russia all our 2nd round draft picks for the next 10 years??
BobbyClarkeFan16
I'm hopeful that Fedotov makes an impact when he comes over. The flyers desperately need a goalie to step up. Ever since Ersson was named starter, in his 21 games, he's gone 9-8-4 with a .880 save percentage. I know I harp a lot about Ersson, but this was his chance to really grab the reins and run with the number one role and he dropped the ball. And I don't need to hear "he's a rookie" type stuff. He's going to be 25 in five months. He's played in 102 professional games and counting on North America. He's played professionally in Sweden. He's not a rookie anymore. Hopefully Fedotov can push Ersson to get to the next level. Hopefully Ersson pushes Fedotov. Steel sharpens steel.

I guess even if Hart is found innocent , he will probably be traded due to the bad publicity . I just wonder how much his value has diminished. Teams will look at him as a weak character guy and someone who can't make good decisions. He's going to have to go Russia or some place like that to rehabilitate his career. 2

I don’t know ,the NFL and NBA allow wife beaters and convicts second chances, I know the NHL is different, so some teams may want him. You know how it goes these days, people are all outraged and then it’s soon forgotten. The mayor of DC was caught on camera smoking crack with escorts, resigned and was re-elected . Maybe Hart plays overseas for a year and comes back. The Flyers would still own his rights for a trade, unless they outright release him. Plus , how many 18 yr olds have good judgment when drinking and at a party.

And they weren't 18 when the assault took place. They were 20. Big difference.

I’m not defending them if they are guilty but just being there doesn’t make you guilty. Time will tell.

At the same time, Hart has no one to blame but himself for putting himself in that position to begin with. I have no sympathy for him at all. Even if he's find not guilty, the stench of this is going to follow him in that people will know what happened in that hotel room and he participated in pile on on a young woman. There's no defending that.

If my ten year old knows that assaulting women is wrong, then a 20 year old should know. This isn't about a drunken sexual encounter. This is five guys who took turns on this girl and ejaculated and spit on her. Don't tell me they didn't know what they were doing was wrong. They knew.

It was terrible. I'm going to be honest - I fully expect that they'll be found not guilty because of the poor job of the initial police investigation, but when the details come out about what happened, you can bet that they'll never play in the NHL again. They'll be black balled. And maybe it's just me, but Tortorella really seemed angered when the charges were announced. He cut all ties with Hart immediately and stopped referring to him by name. Coaches don't normally do that. That was a huge sign to me.
