JackStraw
... and get my bold prediction in before the first game. I predict a breakout season for Cooter. I only saw bits and pieces of a few preseason games but he impressed me the most. He looked much more confident and poised out there. Not saying he'll put up 90 pts, but I think he will "arrive" this year.
mojo1917
@JackStraw i think Sean is a "high character" kid and felt pretty sure he would not be satisfied with his performance last year. It will not surprise me either if he has a break out year.
Lunatic
Now, If B Schenn follows suit, it could be a great year.
brelic
Now, If B Schenn follows suit, it could be a great year. I think Schenn will follow suit. One positive aspect of having Lecavalier is that it takes pressure away from Schenn to produce, and probably takes away some opponent coverage as well. I haven't seen Couturier in the pre-season, but I've heard similar comments that he looks like a different player.
JackStraw
@JackStraw i think Sean is a "high character" kid and felt pretty sure he would not be satisfied with his performance last year. It will not surprise me either if he has a break out year. I would hope that hardly anybody would be satisfied with their performance last year (except Jake and maybe one or two others). I think confidence will be a big factor for Couturier. There were quite a few trade rumors floating around during the offseason and he was the subject of several of them. The organization has showed confidence in him by not trading him for a goalie or defenseman. I think he will respond. Commander Clueless
Now, If B Schenn follows suit, it could be a great year. But only if Mason "re-arrives" too.
TarHeelFlyer
Vinnie does remove some pressure from Schenn AND Couturier to produce offensively, but I'm not sure how much. We basically traded Briere for Vinnie, which anyone would have done, but unless he is producing it might not matter.

jammer2
@JackStraw If Coots plays solid defense like usual, and ups his point production to the 45-50 pt range, I'd consider this season a resounding success.

JackStraw
I sure hope you are right. Both he & Schenn need to step up their games if this team is to accomplish anything this season.Agreed. Both are at the point now where they should be important parts of the team, as opposed to just promising young players.

Yeah, considering that he's pretty much guaranteed to be stuck on the third line behind Giroux and VLC I don't think there's much chance he'll put up more points than that. flyerrod
@radoranNice find. You don't see much of the original AC/DC stuff with Bon Scott. Sweet piece of history there and flashbacks to some good parties Edited December 24, 2013 by flyerrod
