  1. Last night I was leading Dumba in all stars, 12-5, benched Saros to preserve my 2.01 GAA and 94.1%sv satisfied and turned around and looked before I went to bed. He picked up Lyon and he pitched a shutout and then Verheage and Pasternak both had 4 and 3 goals. Next thing you know I am losing 8-9.....It was 10:45pm when i went to bed and the Sharks Arizona game was starting and he had also picked up Prosvetov vs the Sharks. I kept watching and refreshing to see if he was awake and realizing he could bench Prosvetov and win easily. I crossed my fingers when I saw he did not bench the Arizona goalie and then fell into a fitful sleep. Woke up and the Sharks had won 7-2 and he let in all 7, no empty netters.

Today im in a bind, winning 10-6, but barely as he only need 3 assists, 1 PPG, 1 PPA or a goalie win to flip. Our goalie cats are tied 2 wins, 2 losses each. Im winning GAA and SV% but he is winning saves by 16 and SO. He has Kuemper, I have hellebuyck. I doubt I can catch him in saves unless Hellebuyck makes a 50 save performance....vs New jersey. If he flips 2 categories, im toast. tie goes to Dumba since he has a better regular season record vs me. on the bright side, Kuemper plays at 2pm, Hellebuyck at 8pm, so I get to at least see if I need to roll him.

Berggren broke in this year, he has the look of a 30 goal a year sniper who plays good two way game. Edvinsson is getting a cup of coffee with the big club after a fantastic season in the AHL, he will team with Seider as two massive pillars on defense. Soderblom is a bottom six mountain of a man who can score a bit. Wallinder is a sleeper, a ultra skill puck mover on the blueline- a year away. Cossa had a lost season in net and is two or even three years away but is a fine prospect. Our best prospect is likely Marco Kasper, a fine two way player whose skill set will be almost identical to Ryan Kessler. Anyway, lots to like in the system.

Oh yeah. Kasper is a guy we will be keeping an eye on in banger leagues when he makes it to the NHL

Congratulations for your win! I knew I was in deep trouble once Samsonov pooped in my hands before being sidelined. I tried the Sunday Hail Mary but everything blew in my face lol. But your team was too strong anyway. Good success for the following.

PS: What? There's a consolation bracket? Gotta grab the toolbox again...

Thanks man. I was sweating bullets when i woke up Saturday and the score had flipped 7-8. It was closer than the final score indicated and you did pretty amazing for your first year ever given this shark pool!

Good luck @bbgarnett in the 2nd round. This will be a firefight for sure

  5. All stars trade

Halifax trades Copley, Pavelski and Dobson to Hell Bears for Hellebuyck

Copley wins many games and loses few at 18-4-2, but his GAA and SV% isn't great, but his starting gig is secure with Quick being traded out. Hellebuyck plays more at 26-18-2 and has a better GAA and SV% overall, so I had to add. Dobson is a strong offensive Dman who is 5th in SOG among Defensemen and still blocks a lot of shots and gets a good chunk of PPP. Pavelski, well, does it all. RW eligible, wins faceoffs, hits, blocks and scores a PPG.

With Vanecek and Copley, Rux can still have strong goaltending and this gives him more forward depth for a hail mary to make the playoffs. I have to make room for Makar and Evander Kane coming off my IR so 3 for 1 isn't as debilitating to my depth as it would normally be.

The Bertuzzi era in Motown is done, he has been shipped off to Boston for a pair of picks

Boston receives a solid player who will fit in nicely in the middle six on a line with Taylor Hall and Charlie Coyle.  He brings skill and most important, grit, he along with Hathaway and Orlov play a hard heavy intelligent game, they got the perfect player for the postseason with the Wings retaining half the salary.

The Wings get a first in 2024 and a 2025 4th.  Nice add in a first for a player who has been injured literally for years missing 20 games or more nearly every year.

Boston made this work within cap constraints by placing Taylor Hall on LTIR with something that will undoubtedly be deemed cured and all better right before the postseason as he bathes in the river in Lourdes and receives a miracle cure from capitis, same place Kucherov went a few years ago it worked wonders on him.

I cannot lie, i have never been a big fan of Bertuzzi, i always felt there was more to be got out of him and feel that in spite of a rep as a hard working player he doesnt always bring his A game. Perhaps being traded to a legit cup contender, even the cup favorite with up his game to where he is worth the cost of a first and a fourth.

I'm losing track of how many east teams just loaded up. Boston(Bertuzzi, Orlov), NYR(Kane,  Tarasenko), Toronto(O'reilly, schenn, Gustavsson), NJD(meier), Carolina (Ghost) Even Ottawa made a move grabbing Chychrun. By comparison the west will be meeker lol.

played @J0e Th0rnton for the third time this year, this one was as close as the other two but I will happily take the three game sweep after sweating out a 8-7 nailbiter in which nearly every category both ways was contested, really this one (as both the others) coulda went either way. The three scores were

    10-6

    8-7

    8-7

Simply wow. Hoping to dodge the Sharknado bulet come playoff time. Good match as always sir

Variance is on my side! Even pocket aces loses 1 in 4.5 times!

    Good match mate lol

  8. So Shakir Mukhamadullin, who was drafted 1st round 2 years ago 20th overall, Zetterlund, who is looking like a steal and could have been drafted 1st round and 2 more first round picks? That's actually a great return for Meier. Meier's RFA qualifying offer is 10 million dollars. That was going to hurt.

Sharks are going nowhere for a few years so this is a terrific return considering

If they weren't tanking they would be playing a whole lot better than what they are!

    Tanking is intentionally losing.

This isn't intentional so much as it is they are old, suck and can't hack it like they used to. It's clear half the team tunes out the coach as well because I see 2 separate styles being played lol

    Hello all.

Is there any interest in us moving our trade deadline to March 8th from our current Feb 22nd to match that of the other big league here (NAHANA), and so that the real NHL trade deadline is done and us managers can make better roster decisions?

Poll is up, please vote ASAP so we may either change it, or leave it as is!

    Thanks!

nobody wants to trade with me!!!!

So sure maybe more time will help me talk folks into it lol

  11. I also miss the days when hits like this were more common and when clean, just meant you tried to get it back later.

Fighting over clean hits or someone taking an  whack at the puck because the ref hasn't blown the whistle always has and always will be dumb.

    I also miss hip checks.

    Ok ....Trade alert!

    To @Math : Samsonov

    To Ice Pigs: Kucherov

I needed scoring especially in assists.  Kuch gives me that.  I had an extra goalie.  I hate Binnington and have tried to unload to no avail.  @Math gets help in net.

Went back and forth for a bit but ultimately we settled on a 1 on 1 swap.

We both get what we needed.

Binnington eh? I guess it depends what you want for him.

A month until the trade deadline which comes up March 3rd. A lot can change between now and then but there is a big problem, the opposite of last years and several recent seasons as well. Too many teams are still in it.

Last eason literally before US Thanksgiving, all eight Eastern Conference spots were wrapped up and there were at most four teams fighting for the final three spots in the West.  In short there were about fourteeen potential sellers as the deadline aproached.

This year 12 teams in the East and 10 in the West are still fighting for playoff spots, leaving 10 teams who could legit be considered sellers. in short there are more buyers than in recent years, and less sellers. It will be a sellers' market.

These are imho the top names to look to be moved with an unusually high number of buyers....

ANAHEIM Would love to move Gibson but not likely to happen. Stolarz could and will be a solid value backup get. Shattenkirk and Klingberg are UFAs who the ducks will have to eat salary to move.

SHARKS Timo Meier is the hot name out there although he is a RFA at years end and the Sharks do not have to deal him unless they are overwhelmed. Bonino is a fantastic 3C who plays playoff style hockey. Again, it is a buyers market with goalies but Reimer could be insurance for a team whose goalies are iffy. The Kraken are rumored to be interested with dumping the overpriced Grubauer along with picks going the other way.

CANUCKS Would dearly love to move Boeser but has a bloated contract and term, he will not get much of a return and the Canucks will have to eat salary. Schenn is a huge piece, signed to a cheap deal, folks who are fighting the cap will give up a second and possibly a first for him. Supposedly Demko may be on the market but not sure if that is true. Again, it is a buys market on goalies and sellers elsewehre so it might be really really dumb even by Canucks standards to look to move him right now.

BLUES are sinking fast, more or less out of it. O'Reilly has expressed interest in staying but has no clause allowing him to control movement so if healthy by the deadline is a goner unless he signs a two or three year deal with a hometown discount to remain. The Leafs supposedly have him as their primary add. Taresenko is an ufa but has a full no movement deal so he controls his destiny. Supposedly he wants to play with Panarin and rumors of Taresenko/Lafanierre are out there.Barbashev will fetch a third rounder,  Greiss joins a crowded field of goalies.

COYOTES They are loaded up with draft picks and want more, they are rebuilding the right way and will move Bjugstad who the Oilers have expressed interest in. Vjmelka joins a growing list of goalies, intriguing as he has 2 years at less than 3 million per on his deal. Ghost is the top puck moving d-man available. Really a lot of vets on chea deals who someone might want as a 6th defender or 12th forward for picks which the 'Yotes covet.

BLACKHAWKS huge names here. Toews and Kane on their final year of their deal, Toews to the Bruins rumored, Kane to the Rangers if they miss on Taresenko. An intriguing one is Seth Jones who the Hawks would have to eat a lot of alary but rumor is they are open to doing whatever it takes to move on. Athanasiou and especially Domi will bring a decent return. They already have 6 picks in the first three rounds, they may reach double digits by the draft.

JACKETS   Matthieu Olivier is a depth piece who will come cheap. the Jackets want a 2nd for Gavrikov and in the small amount of sellers will get it. Korpisalo joins the huge rank of goalies. Texier went home to France and his days in  columbus are over, he might be a sneaky good add for a team.

FLYERS not a lot to throw out there, Braun for a 4th rounder maybe? JVR a n UFA but his contract is hard to move, not a value add for someone but forwards are thin so he might command a bit of interest,

REDWINGS lots of players here, Larkin is an UFA but has a no move deal and wants to sign. If not he might be persuaded to move on.  Bertuzzi has shot hisself in the foot with a dreadful year but has no protection in his deal and can be traded and will. Calgary rumored to be interested. Maata and Wallman having good years, defense is gonna be hard to get both will draw interest. Erne, Suter and Sundqvist all will draw interest and should draw mid level picks unless they resign.

CANADIENS Monahan rumored to be going to the Avalanche for a third. Dadonov having a wretched year but might be moved for a low level pick.

That is it, some intersting names out there but not enough for the teams in need of a boost. Of course Ottawa may decide they are sellers not much here if so, Motta and Hamonic is about it. Florida is on the cusp, if they fall out of the race they are rumored to be willing to moveon from Reinhart and possibly even Bennett and Gudas, but it is more likely, especially in Floridas case that they will wait until the offseason to make moves.

So not a ton of sellers for the amount of buyers. Too many goalies, nowhere near the defenseman that are needed, buyers will overpay.

The coyotes.  Rebuilding the right way for over a decade lol

They have a 24 year old hot defenseman in chychrun and want to sell him for picks.

    It's like an endless cycle

Big trade fellas. Big names going both ways.

    Akof gets draisatl and flower

@ruxpin gets vanacek, guentzel and Scheifelle. Wow

Hey I just realized draisatl and flower were his gets in our big deal three weeks ago so rux, your trade turned into

    Scheifelle, vanacek and guentzel

    For

    shester, Aho, Bennett and provorov.

Goalies I get slight edge, main centers a wash so provorov/Bennett for Jake is the last part.

As for akof I think he will discover as the rest of us have that flower owns just a tad over half the net on a medium good team so big loss in net. Draisatl is a monster, I love the two forwards he gave up but would deal him for them any day. Still I give a slight edge to rux because vanacek is the better goalie by a mile right now.

Basically it's almost a 3 team trade akof gets the best player, I get the depth and rux gets damn good talent including a couple of his favorite players. Win win win

I like the deal for Rux more due to goaltending being so thin in a 16 team league.

Essentially Forwards get 12 categories to goalies 6 categories. So 3 or so goalies count for 33% of the categories every week. Often you will need to sub in a backup here and there if your week starts bad. Draisaitl is so good he basically counts as 2 skaters. If you carry 3 goalies you also carry 14 skaters, so being so good you count as 2 has diminishing returns. Guentzel and Scheifele are both solid above average skaters.

If vanecek regresses then it will be more even.

But Swayman/Talbot/Fleury isn't bad. There are worse trios in this league.
