Aldrich was 27 and Beach was 20 when this happened, right? They're drinking together along with the rest of the Aces...and what does Beach say happened? Aldrich started JOing in front of him then gave him a BJ? Sorry but we're not talking about a 9-year old here. This is a big ol' boy who plays a violent sport for a living...and he's trying to convince us he couldn't possibly stop Aldrich? Or better yet smash his fkng mouth with the bat Beach says he was waving around.

I'm not saying Aldrich is blameless, bc I think I read he was involved with something like this before. But there's some pretty obvious questions that nobody is asking. I don't think it's "blaming the victim" if we simply ask why didn't you just leave? Why didn't you knock his teeth down his throat?

So what should the high school kid done?? I can't wait to hear this...

As I said, back this up...aspiring young hockey players called up for what should be the experience of a lifetime, and they are ignored by the head coach, skate at another rink, so apart from the team that the coach and NHL skaters couldn't pick you out if a lineup. And Aldrich becomes babysitter?

He told Beach he could get him a spot on the team. Then he threw on some porn and told Beach if he left he'd never get a shot. Then the assault took place.

I know he isn't a 9 year old. But he was only 20 and at someones place he's supposed to look up to. And being threatened with losing something he's been working his whole life to achieve.

I hope and pray this is the end of this type of stuff that next time even if you think this may be happening see something say something.

Ugh, that’s despicable I didn’t know that part. Frankly that would’ve grossed me out so much I would’ve left right then. A 20 year old must know this guy is WAY out of line. If he’s getting threatened with “you’ll never get a shot unless….” I have to believe he knows he’s got power to threaten right back… “Ok coach let’s see how your boss feels about your drinking with us” etc.

As far as “what the high school kid is supposed to do” he was 20 at the time and not a h.s. kid.

He was talking about the 16-year old high school student that Aldrich later sexually assaulted in Michigan.

Why didn't he just fight back?" to a victim of violent assault just shows you don't get it.

I understand that reaction I just disagree with the premise that the question disqualifies me from “getting it.” Your point is a good one, it’s impossible to know what you’d do until you’re in the same situation. But I still believe the answers are important pieces of the story. As you say we’re not all the same so in “s/he said” stories like these I think we never get the full and true account.

I’m an easy mark right now but don’t cast me as Aldrich’s defense attorney bc I’m not. All I’m saying is there’s probably more to the story, full stop.

You seem to be implying that because Beach didn't kill Aldrich when he tried this stuff, Beach must have wanted it.  That is messed up.  Hope people you care about are never in this situation, but I'm sure you'll be sure to ask them for the entire story and get all the answers before supporting them and I am sure they will be very thankful to have you around.  Jesus.

Queneville wont survive this. 48 hours tops he is out of a job in florida. As for Cheveldayoff, Q meets Bettman tomorrow, Chevy on Friday, he seems to have slipped a bit under the radar on this but I think by the weekend the Jets will be hanging out a now hiring sign as well.

My youngest son is 20 and has played hockey since age 6 and he’s always held his coaches in high regard. He bonded with all of them and thought of a few as a second father or Uncle. Hard to picture him being put in that situation without getting sick to my stomach and angry.

I can’t even imagine the stress, pressure and emotional toll this incident had on Beach.

The Blackhawks enabled a sexual predator and then covered for him!

The one big thing i totally disagree with is when the owners said that he truly believes that if this happened in 2021 and not in 2010 Stan would have made the right decision. BS.

Shouldn't even had said this, so since he was a first year GM he didn't know sexually assault a player was wrong but now 10 years later he knows right from wrong and would have done something.

That is complete and utter bullsh it...and it pretty much ruined the thing they were pretending to do with this damage control.

Sometimes you can just say too much.

So is it guilt by association for Quenneville, or was he complicit?

He knew he request that they be left to concentrate on winning the Cup and the playoff run and after i forget the guys name who wanted to go to the cops refuse to involve the police.

In my mind he might as well been the guy doing the assaulting he did nothing.

He also wrote a glowing recommendation for Aldrich despite knowing what he did. Aldrich then proceeded to pray on additional victims in his new job. COMPLICIT!!!
