So? Do the Flyers "respond" tonight and win?

Let's put aside the question of "will it even matter?" Do you think the Flyers find a way to beat the Devils tonight?

Going by recent history it isn't looking good. Apparently the only team the Flyers can "get up" for this year is the Pens.

The last Devils loss created a huge buzz in the locker room with the coach, Homer and the players.

With this said, I think they come out tonight with a solid win, they almost have to.

If not I think they could be "done" as Bryz noted.

well they're pretty much "done" already... I can't see this team winning 15 of the final 20 (21?) games can you, which is about what it would take to land a PO spot. And really...what the hell good is it getting into the POs this year? We can't even beat the fkng Rangers much less the Pens or Boston.

[edit: whoops, sorry, I forgot I was supposed to put aside the question "will it even will matter?"]

I don't think I can ever root against he Flyers in any situation, even this one.

If they could really pull off 15 of 20 it would be an epic run but they'd probably be picking around 14-20 in the draft.

On the other hand it's a shortened off-season for all teams this year by about a month. Add to that, if the Flyers lose out they have a good chance at picking 1-7ish.

(Embarrassment + Jones/Nurse) - Briere/Bryz = A better Flyers team next year and beyond.

I choose to root against Bryz.

This is a time when leaders step up and lead.

Agreed.

The team has the skill to win in this league.

Are we still referring to the Flyers?

That said, I expect the fat lady's tuning up the fork.

The fat lady has already sung, sat down, and died from the exertion. When does baseball start?

You mean like this?

Yeah. It is on everyone else's posts, and it is on the one I just responded to, but it wasn't on the other (although it IS now). Who knows?

it's too late so don't matter. And I like it this way to think so actually I can watch game and be in the good mood no matter final result.

YOU WEREN'T ALLOWED TO SAY IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!! Sheesh. Play by the rules, would'ya???

Agree completely, by the way.

LOL! well that was really just for me - Will it even matter if they win tonight?

I'd just like to see a good game for once, against a decent team. Beating Buffalo earlier this week didn't exactly give me much of a thrill - esp since we almost lost that game too.

To beat the Devils would be nice regardless of the PO implications of winning vs losing tonight. It'd be nice to actually hold Elias off the board for once. It'd be nice to see Giroux look like the best player on the ice again.

@ruxpin I have Henrique and Elias, think both will be involved tonight's scoresheet. Henrique gets a shortie, cementing his status as a Flyer killer early on in his career.

Running into problems with my fantasy goaltending. Halak is a not playing due to horrendous save percentage, Lundy is off and on, forcing me to pick up the rookie Allen from the Blues, looks like he will play till he loses, and even if Halak gets in there, he's on a short leash....which lead me to my next move, a spot start tonight by Hedberg. On the surface, this looks like a good play, but I'm skeptical. All year long, the Flyers win after they have a hopeless outing like last Wendesdays game. I say the Flyers rebound and win 5-4 tonight....just because it looks like they won't. The Jeckyl and Hyde personality of this team continues.

I would trade Couts for Henrique straight up, any day of the week.

As much as I defend Couts on here, I would make that trade without even blinking.

Of course, Henrique would have a career-ending concussion the very next week and Couts would have 2 PPG against the Flyers for the next ten years.

hard not to like Henrique but Couturier is bound to ... oh never mind I got nothing - just nothing. Couturier, if he's destined to be a career Flyer may very well end up a forgettable player. The level of mismanagement going on, especially in goal makes me wonder if even Giroux will lock-in his "Top 5 Player" status. It sure as hell isn't happening for him this year...

I say they win tonight, but exhaust themselves in the process, making it impossible for them to be competitive (truly competitive) for the rest of the season, like they need to be. They'll win, get our hopes up, give us a taste of some brilliant play, like they should be capable of, and then tank the last 19 or so games leaving us wondering what the heck happened......again.

So maybe it would be easier if they just lost tonight.....which they also are very capable of doing. I like that this game is at home, though.
